Has anyone that has kicked methadone had this strange skin feeling?
I imagine it being like an invisible film on your skin. It just feels....like there is something there. Specially on your hands and arms. Its really crazy and has been getting way worse. It really feels like there are chemicals all over my skin. It isnt nasty like how some stimulants do you when they come out of your system but it is annoying. I scrub my skin and no matter what just cant shake it.
Anyone else?

William Burroughs used to talk about "hives" and I've heard others talk about skin getting weird...but mine just gets clammy, and goosepimples and shit like that: it seems everybody has some personal hell that only *they* get stuck with, and that most of us also share all the other, more common withdrawal symptoms...I personally don't think it matters much, whether it's heroin, or methadone, or subs, or whatever...has more to do with amount you were doing when you jumped, and how long you've been at it...but in the end, we all kind of get to that dark little spot for a bit, where it just doesn't seem worth it to continue w/withdrawals...and every once in a while we actually push thru to the other side, and start feeling better, an hour here and there, then a day, once in a while, and then, one day you find yourself being o.k. again, even happy...I promise...
This has been true before in my own life and I'm betting everything on it being true again, and I've been at this game a long time, but it's just this in between, my friend, when it can be a little tough...just hang in there, and don't get too crazy w/the benzos, as that can bring on other problems...
All the best, but u know that :)

I also have some strange and very inconvinient skin sensations when I go into opioid withdrawals.
But those are different than those you described.
But I will agree with Duck, all of us have our own skin sensations when we're without opioids.
My theory is that it's because of the lack of Endorphine.
If that skin sensation continues during the next 4 weeks, that means that your Endorphine stations still didn't recover and that you don't have enough Endorphine in your system.
If that's true, you will also very quickly catch a cold or a flu, maybe.
I dunno...
Anyway, it shouldn't be anything serious, but I'd suggest you go and see a dermatologist.
Just in case.
