Hello all, I aint been around for a minute due to some legal problems, but after 8 months I am finally home! It was a rough trip especially the cold turkey withdrawl from MMT when they tossed me in county, but it was a learning experience none the less. I aint totally free though since I got to do the probation game, and thats a game I consistently lose so I think I'll play by their rules this time...... for the most part.

Any advice to help keep the P.O. off my back besides paying my fines, working, and dropping clean from those of you who have made it would be appreiciated.

Its great to have you back around! I know kicking done in county had to suck ass big time! Hell, county jails in general suck period. The fastest way to get off the supervised end of your probation is to play it their way. Everytime I've been on it in my life I was always let off of the supervision part way earlier than I was scheduled too. PO's have allot of discretion in that area, I think. Hope it works out for ya! Keep us posted!

Welcome back, 20Dollarholla! Gratulations on making it out of the clink.
I always treated my PO with respect. I wasn't kissing their asses at all, but I treated them (I had 2 different ones) how I liked to be treated - with respect. I always remembered that it was my choices in life that got me my very own PO. In turn, they treated me well. When they came to my workplace (happened three times in 18 months), they covered up their guns & badges, and told the front desk they were friends of mine come to visit. Since I had been rigorously honest with my employer & coworkers, they knew that these folks were my POs. But I appreciated their efforts to be low key.
The day they let me off probation, my PO came to the office with a cute certificate she had made me on her computer saying I had successfully completed my criminal probation. That appealed to my quirky sense of humor, and I still have it around here somewhere.
So, my quick answer - be polite & respectful to your PO and often they will give it right back to you.
Good Luck!

Follow that advice of your own and give the PO respect and you will be fine. If you follow the rules, don't fuck up and manage to get along with the PO you can usually get off papers quicker.

i had a lousy po-- up to that point i had never been to prison--but i had a bad arrest record--- just always skated with minimal jail time--she violated me on my first dirty test anyway good luck to you--i know i had a lousy po because even the cops thought she was an up tight bitch---so you'll know if you have a cool po or not i wish u luck and a cool po-----btw will you ever do methadone again? i know people who had such a hellish time detoxing mmt that they would never do done again-- they would rather do herion than risk getting busted again with a done habit--i always feared that myself--any way welcome back---:)

nothing to add really, just like everyone else has said be polite, dress nice, keep a job, pay your fines before they are due, pass your UA's, and act like you've turned your life around and you're just ready for this to be over(which is true in your case).

I just met with the P.O. and my rules of supervision aint as strict as I thought they would be. I meet with him once a week and do some more drug consouling. He is more or less happy that I have a job already and have my fines paid in full. He is the P.O. that revoked me in March so I kinda know what to expect from him. He told me I looked a lot better now that I wasnt dopesick everyday (last time I was on papers I was doing a slow MMT taper).

As for going back to maintenence, I would if it ever became neccessary. At least I know its there if the need arises. The WD's sucked bad, but I was through the roughest part after about a week and then just had the shits from there on out. That lasted a good month and a half.

Well, Im about to go hit this 5th up and celebrate.

Great to have you back!

Sounds like you know whats up. At the very least you got off m.done. That is really something to think about; no more waiting in line, getting up early just to go to the clinic, and all the money you save on dose payments and gas or bus-fare to get there. Not even mentioning all the uberbullshyte you have to go thru/put up with.

The bright side:cool:.

Luckily, and only by luck I have never been in any legal trouble, however, I will say that you are better man than me for going CT in jail, that is the only way I could imagine Hell to be like....

Glad you are out and o.k., and I know everybody's different, but I have to say that after all the jails, and prison stretch--and on a day to day basis, jail is much worse--I have to say that when I finally got *probation* and realized that I couldn't even do *pain pills* without failing piss tests, I started seriously looking at the different ways to actually get *off* the dope...and it's probably the only reason I'm alive, so good luck whatever you do...all kinds of variables in this situation, but in the end, just don't piss of yer p.o....

Well you say besides all those things. But those are important. I've been on probation at least 6 times since I was 18. # 1 is Pay the fines, and even better get ahead. Do your com. service, and most PO's will be cool. It depends on the PO really. Some are bitches for some reason and some are actually nice respectable people. The PO issue along with your conditions of probation are the two most important factors.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It means a lot. I am so glad to be back and talk to my opie peeps. I missed yall tremendously, for real.

I plan to play by the P.O.'s rules, maybe chip once every week or two, the day I drop, if even that. I know its not the best idea, but for now I can handle it (famous last words).

Like I said I have a job already, comm. service is done, and fines are paid. So hopefully that will carry some wieght and maybe I can get off paper in half time ( 1 year instead of two)
