50 trip limit...what is it in your words?

I am curious to see how many people are experiencing a different animal with DXM as a result of passing this so called trip limit. I must say that I have never really had any fascinating visions etc. while on DXM, but this is not to say that they never existed even in minimal form. My highest dose was somewhere around 28mg/kg, and probably would have killed me if it weren't for my long time experimentation with the drug. It has always been strange to me that my near or total anesthetic doses never allowed me to wake with fantastic stories of "Motities" the alien or anything much other than just..."holly fuck man!, how long was I out?". At any rate, 900 mg was a nominal dose in my first 50 trips, and that consisted mostly of tracers and writing seriously wicked poetry. The only way I can describe what the sensation has evolved into is a "dissociative cage" that takes me into its grasp for 4 hours and then spits me right back out into reality. The effects of the drug really have changed in the time I have been using it, but never the less I still like the feeling regardless of whether I have missed out on truly tripping my balls off. I have taken a 6 month break, and a high third plateau dose yielded nothing more than a pass out and the best sleep I have ever had. If I have strayed from the original point, I am sorry...again, I am interested in learning other peoples experiences with this ever changing beast.

its at best a slippery ball that contains for me, almost every sensation a drug can induce . this is over a period of 20 years and 400+ days spent under the influence, mostly taken in the lower dosage range. combinations with ket.salvia,2ct-2 are strangely easily handled, probably due to using small amounts. I experience a general feeling of well being for days after. I did use the substance for about a year straight, and do not recommend that in any way. DXM is a strange bird. someday I hope its found as an organic compound someday,so that some may regard it with more respect and realize DXM as a compound with very diverse effects on cognition and somatic being

I couldn't have said it better...and you are quite right about the lack of respect that DXM gets from the community. It seems that a lot of folks are just expecting Fantasia to jump out of their TV screen the first time they try a substance, and DXM is by no means a "take this pill and go to the moon" kind of drug. DXM in an organic form...yeah, I don't care how bitter it would be, I would be drinking some damn good tea lol! Indeed, most drugs (if not all) do seem to become that slippery ball that leaves you chasing the effects that used to be...but you can never get them back, only find new ones to expend.

I noticed the change at around 100 trips. DXM does absolutely nothing for me now. The first 10 trips or so were not that pleasant, the first trip was down right scarey and very unpleasant. But the following 90 were absolute bliss on earth. MDMA doesn't even compare. Now a days however the drug offers me nothing worth chasing. Sad.

Dexter old chap,please use larger type.I'm sure this is fascinating stuff,but half sick at 8 in the morning after a night without zz's,I just can't read it.

I don't know whether DXM lost its thunder for me because of the 50 trip limit, or just because i got older.. i read some research that said the older you get, the less DXM will effect you.. i have no idea if that's true or not.

I also find that mixing DXM with CPM (coricidin cough and cold) really, REALLY adds to the hallunications. I once met jesus and jim morrison in the same night on coricidin. No joke.

Two words: Robitussin cough gels (or generic equivalent; CVS, Eckerd, Rite Aid, Food Lion, et cetera all have their own).

Nice little liquid-filled gel caps with 15mg DXM in 'em - DXM and only DXM.

That coricidin shit has chlrophenyramine in it, which is an antihistamine. In large doses, which is what you get when you eat enough coricidin to get off on the DXM, the antihistamine starts to have some bad effects. What the medical-type people refer to as an "anticholinergic effect." For the folks who are not familiar with medical terminology, what that means is that it can disrupt your heart rhythm and increase the pressure inside your eyes, and other things I can't think of right now.

I would suggest using DXM-only products or if you have to, DXM + guaifenisin products.

Robitussin Maximum strength cough or generic equivalent (liquid, 15mg/5ml)

Robitussin "cough gels" (as I mentioned before) - liquid-filled gel capsules, 15mg each.

TheraFlu "cough strips" - little strips that dissolve in your mouth (cherry flavored), 15mg each. They only come in packs of 12, so you might have to eat two packs to really get off. I ate 12 and I was feeling pretty weird.
