Broken Arm

Just broke my shoulder about one hour ago now while riding quads. This sucks for many reasons but the main one, and this was the one that popped into my head after pushing the quad off of me, is that I was planning on going through, what I expect to be, mild withdrawals this week. So my question is should I get the pills I'm entitled to or just ride out the withdrawals and the broken bone? II've never gone through any form of withdrawal with a broken bone so this is a little scary especially since I know tomorrow my shoulder probably gonna be screaming.

Its actually probably just a fracture so a hospital visit isnt necessary. I've never had a broken shoulder but I imagine I wouldnt be able to move it nearly as much as I can which isnt much, but still.

Typing with one hand yakes twice as much time. Who'da thunk it?

If you need me I'll be getting a hot shower with a cold bottle of Vodka...

A chance to get a scrip,hmmm let me think, oh what the hell oh doc ow ow ow . when I smashed my hand the doc was throwin percs at me and i'll take all i can get. You can go through w/d's any old time,even if you aren't going to take them now they are always nice to have or pawn off.why would you go thru w/d's and suffer with a broken shoulder unless you don't have ins. If your shoulder is broke you are probobly going to wake up screamin later get what you can!!

I'm with marblehead on this one. Don't go through WD and the pain of a broken shoulder... doctor yourself up and if you still want to kick when your semi-healed the withdrawl will be waiting for you, trust me. It's good advise to never miss an opportunity to fill a script, be glad you have insurance to do so.

My concern can be formed in question as such. Because the script, that I decided to get because as the hours grew on tonight the pain got much worse, will be acting on the pain of the broken arm instead of me just getting high does this mean that it wont intensify the withdrawals I know I have to go through anyway?

I think I still may have been in shock from the accident cause a free script for pills is always a go. We've all contemplated breaking our bones at some point or another right?

Dude I never wanted to break my bones to get pain killers,that shit just happens from living my life why give yourself pain to kill it. however why pass up a chance to get them when you need them thats a stupid question. there are places in city's that you can get cheap health care I know someone who pays a buck or 2 for scripts cause they had no dollas but needed the help because of pain. Take advantage of what you have or your situations or just jump in front of a car or hit yourself in the head with a hammer to get a script filled or dream of it if that puts the iceing on your fucking cake mang

The more you play, the more you pay. You might be able to use the scrip to wean yourself off the narc's , but that never worked for me, no willpower when they are sittin right there, but I have read of others doing so on this site.If your shoulder is broken you should be able to get a pretty good amount. I have never thought of hurting myself, but if I was injured I would definatly milk the shit out of it.When I smashed the shit out of my hand 10 yrs ago, I went to the doc to get my hand checked a week after surgery, as I'm leavin(never thought to ask about more perc's,I was niave) the doc says as I'm walkin out the door " hows your pain, need ant more pain med?" I wheeled around " as a matter of fact now that you mention it my hand does still hurt a lot". 48 percs for me. I left feelin better and learned it never hurts to ask especially if you already have gotten a scrip from them already.

Yeah as far as breakin your own bones it was more something that my freinds and I would joke about when we were sick. And I just got back from the hospital. I guess I split or irritated my AC or somthin' I dont know but anyway I only got 12 vic 5's so that will only postpone my withdrawal one day. no bigge

Wow, DD, that's quite a story! And Opi, sorry to hear about your shoulder... hope the vics help a little. Several years ago, I rear-ended another car. My knees hit the dash (only one injured in either car), and the ER doc gave me a Rx for Dilaudid. I was too dumb to know to fill it... a few months later, I thought, "hey, why not?" Well, the pharmacist looked at the script and acted like I just showed him a decapitated head or something. He FREAKED. Guess, class IIs expire quickly and I didn't know. Needless to say, I never got the dillies.:rolleyes:

Yes, yes, I KNOW better now. Got started a few years ago on some hydros that were left over from a previous surgery, with like 2 expired refills. What a dumbass, I was.:D (Today, I'm picking up my 240mg of daily morphine... as soon as the Rx arrived in the mail at my door, it went straight to the pharmacy!!!)

ex-lax and loperamide are 2 different things. if you're constipated, take the ex-lax. if you're in w/ds, and youre the complete opposite of constipated (diarehea), take the loperamide.

or take both, and who knows, maybe an even keel.

when im sick, constipation has never been an issue. the complete opposite. i take laxatives sometimes, when im using, but you need loperamide which is listed as "anti-diarreha" in the drug store-when youre sick.

but im not sick anymore, w/ds are gone.

i'm a big fan of the metamucil-type stuff for fighting constipation. i go through plenty of the stuff when opiated, and it's pretty much smooth sailing. the generic type i just got (kroger brand in my case) is pretty easy on the taste buds, too!

Thats definatly a descrip. of a full blown kick....which I havent had for years...Its so distant from me now....No more posting about the minor kicks I go through every once in a while out of respect for those who are still kickin' hard.

Its all perspective though...its like if we all fall in a pile of shit and then fight about who has more shit on them... I to would get pissed at the guy who only got a little bit of shit on his shoes.

Guys, try "FiberCon" pills. My gastro doc turned me on to them- they work great.. If you remember to take them regularily!!
