I think I already know the answer to this, but Im going to ask anyway.
Is the Tramadol that is prescribed to dogs the same thing that is prescribed to humans?
...and no, im not stealing my dogs meds...ha, I just was comparing the old bottle from when he broke his leg a while back and comparing one of my old ones and they both said Tramadol 50mg so I'm guessing its the same.

Yes it is the same thing. Tramadol is Tramadol. My vet prescribed xanax to my dog, and I took most of it myself.

my dog had some patches and butorphanol pills when she had her eye removed 5 years ago. the vet told my family not to touch the patch because "we would get a headache or extremely sick". that made me laugh.

Vet shot hydromorphone (dilaudid) in my dog on admitting him to vet hospital the first day, Poor mut was in some real pain from a lupus type condition. He was feeling no pain after that. When I picked him back up the next day they gave me tramadol for him. He seemed kinda dissapointed with it . I think he preferrred the dilly.
