How much $ have you spent on your dope habit?

Okay, here's food for thought. How much, maybe to the nearest thousand or where ever about you can begin, have you spent on heroin since your habit began? I don't want this to turn into a pissing contest for who spent the most on dope. Actually, for our old pal Fred the size of the number makes him have to hold back tears. But, I find some of us may find it theraputic to just come clean about it and show the world how much of a dumb ass we've really been.

To my best guess I'm going to guess one of my best friends Fred spent between $200-$250,000 over the past five years on H, morphine, fent patches, OCs, percs, hydrocodone etc. with 90% of the money concentrated on H. Shame on fucking Fred. That's enough money to outright buy a house and a brand new car. All down the fuckin' "pisciadu" (italian slang/dialect for pisser, pronounced pee-sha-DOO). What a god-forsaken WASTE!

I mean, yeah sure Fred had some great highs and bring on the IV and woah nelly LOOK OUT and speedballs, wow, friend thinks they're tantamount to skeeting a big fat nut for a dude and possibly having one of biggest orgasms ever for a girl (as per accounts they've given him). But, I digress about Fred. It's just sad that any one person could waste that kind of $, isn't it?

Where do you guys sit with all this? Do you regret spending the dough? Do you just not give a shit cause money is money and you'll always find a way to get more? I'm curious to read what you guys have to share here.

Not including treatment, medical costs, and the costs of legit scripts; while in rehab the last time I calculated that I had spent around $80,000 on illicit drugs like H, coke, OC, and herb. Fucking crazy. Not as bad as one of my buddies in treatment with me though. He was a professional MMA fighter and owned several prominent night clubs. He figured out that he had spent over $3 million throughout his using/drinking career. Upon realizing this he got nauseous and puked, can't say I blame him.

I don't use H. Our (my hubby and I) DOC is Oxycodone. I would estimate that between legit scripts and all the supplementing we have done over the past few years we've probably spent near 100K. That includes the early withdrawal of a 401K plan and a WC settlement. It's enough to make you sick when you think about it isn't it? That's why I try not to:(

back to topic, i've probably spent $15-20k on drugs and lawyers and court and probation, etc...

on drinking and drugs, with medical bills that came about because of accidents being drunk or high, I've probably spent $60-75k

I honestly think I've spent 500K on drugs/alcohol in my life. I'm 33 years old, I've worked non-stop since I was 16 years old and I've had a couple very good paying jobs...

...and I have NOTHING to show for it.

Taking into account legal fees from two DUI's and all the other money that you have to pay to accomodate a drug habit, I'd say probably $250,000 or so since I was 19. That includes two totaled cars, rent for an apartment that I didn't even like, but got to get away from my family, money in gas to get the shit, legal fees, rehabs, etc., etc., etc. Not all of that was on just opiates. It's since I was 19 and tried my very first drug. The fucked up thing is that I didn't pay most of it, my family did, which in itself makes me feel bad.

Hard to say. I estimated during my sophomore year of college that I had spent roughly $30,000 on OC, but after that it fluctuated so much that I have no clue.

Shite, what a depressing question.. let's see... about 18 years of using 50$ of dope a day, with a few clean months every now and then, followed by a few months of excessive using (which levels it out again). I'd say about 328.500..
Fuck, could've bought a nice house in Spain from that.
And don't even get me started on cigarets, booze and coke, that would probably make up for a private jet in front of me mansion...
Still, I don't think it's wasted money. I've had my share of good times.

What never fails to confuse me is this: somehow I always managed to get hold of enough money in my using-days to keep me comfortable and I needed way more money back then than I do now.
So.. how come I don't have a shitload of money on my bankaccount now that I've got a job and have quit using for some years.. beats me :rolleyes:
