Anyone else having an issue with read posts being displayed as new? Even my own posts are displayed as unread when I return. I know about the "Marked forums read" tab but if there's any chance this could be fixed it would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed that, too. I usually browse the site using the 'New Posts' tab, and find myself looking at posts I've already seen. I dunno why this is, but it's been that way as long as I can remember...

Yeah i find it seems like it just takes a REALLY long time for it to detect that you've read it sometimes. Which kind of makes it useless cause by the time it updates it's not really accurate as to what you've looked/not looked at.

It would be pointless, but luckily it seems to work MOST of the times. I think i remember a while ago figuring out something about it, like if you click into the topic from the "latest post in this forum" link it might not count....or it might be the only way it counts.....or it might be something else like that, i really can't remember.

Yeah this happens to me as well, not a big deal of anything but it would save me from going to a section and then realizing I read it already. Meh not too much of a biggie to me though

Yeah, for some reason this happens to me, But I have started to refresh the thread once I get there, and find that there are indeed new posts.

Does this only happen w/ Poll threads, by chance? Threads that are Polls will show up as 'new' everytime somebody votes in it... so if they (the current voter) don't post, it seems as if it's showing up as new w/ no new replies.

I used to wonder about that--it's not a new deal--and finally figured out that if somebody goes back and either clicks on a poll, as I-Nod said, *or* edits a previous post, or there is any change at *all* in any of the earlier posts...then it comes up as 'new'...
I just "walk on by" if I'm not interested...particularly if is some *ancient* thread where I've posted totally contradictory comments in the past, and now have seen the error or my ways, and am all reformed and rehabilitated...:argue:

LOL Duck... "R and R" has a new meaning... used to be Rest and Relaxation... now it's Reformed and Rehabbed. I like it!
