I haven't been shooting dope for a while now... until yesterday! I ran into an old freind, one thing led to another, and I was shooting dope all day yesterday. Normally I drink tea and lots of it, and got high every time I slammed some dope but it's so short acting compared to what I'm used to. Last night I got home at about 1am, I was thinking about how great all that dope was, and it ocurred to me I wasn't high anymore. I had to make a couple cups of tea at 2am to get a buzz with some legs.

All in all I had a great time, great dope, great rush, no bruises... but I'm probably just going to stick with my tea for now... I'd rather have a buzz all day then to get real high for 2 hours and then ... nothing.

What a good time though.... mmmmmmm...

Are you talking H users here or in real life? In real life, they're all in the class I'm teaching (J/K they seem pretty straight), I won't mention where I'm teaching though..... don't get me in trouble Ron Doe! Actually, at the moment i'm not doing anything wrong, just a couple benzos before class is all. No drugs unless you'd put BUPE in that category.....

i had a chemistry teacher in high school who grew poppies on his farm. i mean it wasn't a poppy farm, but he had a bunch of side things going. in addition to the poppies i think he made his own beer, wine, and mead (a honey-based wine). anyway, he would bring a bunch of poppies into class all the time and use them in experiments. like once he used poppies to demonstrate how liquid nitrogen would instantly freeze anything dipped into it, and then you could shatter said object. he always wore the most plain, boring tweed suit, but with the most gaudy tie you'll ever see. the kind with pictures on them. my favorite were his beatles ties. anyway, i'm almost positive he was at least a recreational user of opi's. one time i asked him if it was illegal to grow poppies since they were used to make heroin (this is before i knew shit about opiates and the laws regarding them). he perked up really quick and was like, "there's a lot of uses for the poppy. many people grow them for a variety of reasons. it's not illegal." he kind of got a little defensive, so i always wondered about him after that.

I'm currently taking Pharmacology of Addiction at my community college, and the class is full of addicts, future drug abuse counselors, and ex-addicts. It's fun to look at everybody and try and decide who uses, and what there DOC might be.

I also found out today that the teacher is an ex-IV heroin addict.

But still slamming dope thats been in a rig for a long time can do some serious shit also, endocarditis, cotton fever, etc. This is just fuct up man I remember reading this thread right when he posted it and because im kind of a naturally quiet person I didnt reply. I really regret not replying though because I was gonna tell him to be extremely careful with the low tolerance as ive had SO many friends die after coming outta jail or detox or rehab. Papa Verine, hold in there bro, there was nothing you coulda done to stop the kid. A low tolerance combined with some money and good cheap heroin is actually how most of us die so everybody should take this as a lesson to do a small test shot first to see how strong it is, or you can just push it in super slowly as you can tell within 10 or so seconds how high you are before doing the whole shot. I hope I didnt sound like a dick in anyway in this post as I really feel for everybody involved especially Adam and his family. Be careful everybody, Especially if you just got outta jail or rehab and have a low tolerance.

How true. Unfortunately I think all you can do is say what the best decision is and know that the person will likely still go against your word. I know myself and everyone else like me did. I guesse the point is that one day when the person kinda has a realization, everything that people said to them will come back and make sense. Well anyways.....

RIP Ron...I hate hearing this type of thing, knowing how good clean life is and the fact that if it wasn't ofr my family I wouldn't be, and all the times i came close to biting the bullet...I can only hope he's in a better place
