well, heresw what happened...i guess anyway. last nite i was doing things as usual, i hung out w/ a couple of friends outside in front of myself just bullshittin' about stuff and cuttin' up, then i went inside to get ready for bed. so i took all my normal nitetime medications, which include Serequil 94 sleep and im also taking it to stimulate my appitite), Remeron (also given to me 4 sleep & to stimulate my apitite), Klonopin (to control anxiety & also to prevent anymore siezures - which ive only had 3 grand mal's & they were all back in 2004 the cause of unknown origin), Topamax (also to prevent siezures as well), & also Restoril - whuich i dont use every nite....only the nites i have trouble falling asleep but i did take 1 last nite. i also took a couple of Oxycontin & an Actiq lollipop, which i do EVERY nite B-4 i go to bed while winding down. and i also took 1 soma since my back and neck were hurting & in knots. i know all of this sounds like a lot of medication, but i take all of it the same way, and in the same quantity EVER single nite almost. so i didnt take anything out of the ordinary, nor did i drink any alcohol, or take more of any of my meds than i was suppose too. so heres the weird part. all i remember was coming in from hanging ouyt w/ my 2 friends, changing into my shorts & tank top to sleep in, taking my nitetime meds (as ive already mentioned), going to go get sum chipped ice to eat on ( i absolutly LUV eating shaved/or chipped ice.....:p), then getting in bed while sitting up agauinst my heating pad on my back while eating the ice and watching the seson premier of Supernatural (which was totally awesome btw...! :D). and thats the last thing i remember. the next thing i knew, my dad was shaking me on my shoulder trying to wake me up.....but when i woke up, i was laying in the middle of the kitchen floor w/ my dad hovering over me asking me if i was ok & if i knew what happened, which of coarse i didnt si i said no. he had a VERY concerned look on his face and to say the least, i was, & still am pretty freaked about the whole tthing. i know it is re4ally freaking out my parents too, cuz my mom very quietly snuck (sp?) into my room this morning right b4 she left for work, & i know she was trying not to wake me, but i could sense her "presence" so to speak, which caused me to open my eyes. then w/ a very concerne look on her face, she gently touched my forhead & cheek, and asked me if i felt ok, which i told her yes. so then she told me "i love u," and then left. and so a few minutes ago i called her to find out if she knew perhaps what had happened to me, which she said that she wasnt sure. she asked me first if id taken anything out of the ordinary, which i told her the truth.....which was no, i had not. i did ask her if this "episode" coulda been caused by my serious head injury a while back from my car accident, and she replied that she wasnt sure, but it could be a possibility, and that she & my dad just wante to keep an eye on me, and the situation in general 4 a while. i told her that was fine, in fact i thought it was a good idea. so i guess we'll just have to see what happens from now on...... it was indeed a very unnerving and a bit of a frightning expirience for me if anything, and im sure it was for my psrents as well. well. anyhoo, thats my story of my latest weird adventure......just thought id share it w/ u all....;)

It's a tough one...but mostly I was thinking about how kind and loving your parents are...glad you made it thru it, as it doesn't always end that way...be careful!!!

Got that right.
There's worse places to wake up than on the kitchen floor.
I always wonder how many blackouts I have had that I didn't know I had.
Because if you hadn't of woken up on the floor you might not have thought much about it.

you said you've had seizures, that's probably what happened
i've NEVER remembered any seizures that i've had, not a single one
one thing, if you have seizures of unknown origin like ya said
ask your dr about "panic induced seizure disorder" PSD
or the very similar "stress induced seizure disorder" SSD
its exactly what it sounds like it is
my seizures confused drs for a long time cause all the tests showed i didn't have epilepsy
but apparently i have psd
check yerself out for that, cause seizures suck and can be dangerous

Hey half alien, sounds scary. Is your head injury a recent thing - has it occured since 2004 & your previous seizures?
I know you are accustomed to those meds at those doses, but I'm wondering if your oxygen level in your blood got too low ( a normal side effect of the combo of meds you're on). Low blood oxygen level is a very common cause of seizures. And even with your tolerance, your respiratory drive is knocked down & out on opiates & especially combos of drugs like yours. Add sleep to that and it's possible that you just weren;t breathing enough & seized because of it.
So, just a thought. If it happens again you need to see a doc & be upfront about the drugs & doses you're on. You may need to have oxygen while you're sleeping.
Good luck - hope it doesn't happen again, or if it does you find out what is causing it..
I find it easy to believe it was caused by the medication. You said you don't take the restoril every night, but you did that night. so you had:
Clonazepam
Temazepan
Oxys
Fentanyl
Soma
When you're on a cocktail like that, it's hard to gauge just how much you're taking because there's synergy and different drugs combine to have stronger effects. If you add to that temazepam that you don't take every night, it doesn't seem that hard to believe the meds caused a blackout. Plus soma does weird things in tandem with other drugs.
When you're on 2 different benzos, plus soma, plus opiates, AND topamax, a seizure seems fairly unlikely to me. I'm not a doctor though so who knows.

I'm sorry that happened to you! That's very scary.
(Side note.. I hate to be the old fart in the group... but I find your posts very hard to read. If you could throw in some spacing that would help. The green font is hard on my eyes to begin with, but all those words crammed together make it damn near impossible for me to read.... sorry for being a Granny :p)
That must be worrying. So,I'd go see a doc.
Take care.

Nah, me too, it took me a while to get through it, and on my monitor i have to highlight it to read it.

I get seizures too, and although there are obvious signs after having a grand-mal, you can have seizures that are exactly like what you described.
I have seriously deformed root nerves at c5-c6 that appeared after a car accident that are believed to be the cause of these seizures I have. My DR. gives me a similar cocktail to prevent them, but my wife tells me I have them while I am asleep sometimes.
I have been woken up lying on the kitchen floor with no idea how I got there too; my guess is you had a seizure on the way to the fridge.
Seizures are a bitch, I have four broken teeth now because of those bastards, I hope you find the right cocktail to prevent yours, my cocktail seems to have slowed them down, but my wife tells me I still get them they just aren’t anywhere near as bad as they were before I took the Xanax/Soma/Zanaflex/Propoxyphene HCL cocktail. I add a dose of H to make sure it works.

Maybe you should talk to your Dr. about hooking you up to one of those
little EEG recorders that you wear around for two or three days and
it logs all the data as you go. Then they hook it up to a laptop and
read it all out. Might be worth a shot ( pun intended )
