Hey all i have a pretty simple question for you. Do you think someone who takes a little opiates here and there ( norco's, vic's, etc) should take a 10 mg tab of methadone? This person who is very stubborn but whom i love very much wants to pop some methadone. 10 mg? Should be okay..right? no drinking on top of it, nothing else.

perdonally i say fuck doing anything you dont wanna do. and if youve said yer not comfortbale with doin it, then tell that person to fly a kite. im sure he just wants you to hae fun, but you WONT have fun if you are unconfotable doin it

10mg should be just fine. Of course, everyone is different, but it should be cool. Just don't go doing anything stupid like adding more opiates or benzos because you don't feel the methadone. It takes a while to kick in.

Yup Upstate's right , Methadone is tricky stuff ,thats why so many

people die from it But that being said 10mg should be just fine.

also something to be considered is the size of that person,is he/she petite? average?
from my expierience, methadone can be more dangerous then heroin itself.

Sure...they'll just wonder what all the big deal was about...10mg of methadone won't do shit, and since methadone doesn't have hardly any 'buzz' anyway, ...

Sometimes people confuse the "getting well, I'm so happy" feeling, w/the opiate high that a non-addicted person gets...if I'm sick, and get a good dose of methadone, I'm in heaven...but if I'm just popping pills once in a while, and pop a 'done tablet, nothing much happens...which is why they are *so* fucking dangerous on the street, because ignorant idiots don't "feel'em" and keep doing more and more, drinking a beer or two on the way, and then they get a "little sleepy" and lay down, and never wake up...

I could give a shit less about this darwinian clean-up *except* that the survivors get all lawsuit happy on the way back from the funeral home, and the lawsuits make methadone clinics think twice about opening, and communities see methadone as some "evil" corruptor of youth, and so those of us who *need* methadone to function might eventually be SOOL...or forced to take oxys, which'd have me moving to Baltimore *tomorrow* since I can't do the heroin mud garbage they have out here...and subs suck...for me...rant over... ;-)

Thanks all. I know methadone pretty well, not great, but i know what can cause harm to ME and how much i should take but yea makes me feel a little better i guess. and just a little fyi i know that some people dont really get "high" on methadone but when i take methadone im high, well pretty high, for a while. so just thought id throw that out there. she is pretty curious about the feeling as i always tell her and since i dont listen to her shes not listening to me :| but hopefully she tries it and has a pleasurable, safe, experiene. thanks all! peace

Oh it's fine: we're no different...I think we were talking more about people who take *way* too many, because they don't give the same hard quick buzz that other opys do, and then when they're dead, their parents--and their lawyers--always blame methadone, mostly 'cuz that gives them somebody to sue--usually the local clinic--while w/heroin, and even alcohol, it's tougher...

Sure, I think people like me, who say methadone "doesn't get you high" are just saying that our tolerance is shot...and also, we tend to compare the subtle buzz of methadone w/gut warming euphoria that heroin and hydromorphone bring on, and methadone is poor substitute for those two...so again, this was good thread, but sometimes I think we are talking about apples and oranges...and mostly, just want people to be careful w/the dreaded 'done....and *Brony!!!* I finally learned how to multi-quote: u should be *proud* of me!!! ;)

Ya know, I'm hoping she takes it & not only doesn't get high but ends up barfing her gutz out, thereby ensuring that she doesn't want to experiment any more with your m'done....
