:( if this is in the wrong area, i apologize and plz move to proper. anyways, i got pulled over in queens for being double parked. the car was running and i wa sjust waiting for some friend to come out of the pizza place so we culd be out. so the pigs shit a flashlight in my car and saw a small little bonmg on the floor (i think a friend of mine who i brought to the airport dumped it there) so then they say they have the right now to search my car. fuck. so they put us in handcuffs right away in front of mad people in the neighborhood about half of which i knew.fuck, then i guess they caleld the narcotics peole.detetctive bc they found my bottle of suboxone after searching due to the bong and tthere were ~90 pills asider from a couple xanax and a valium that i had forgot were even in there. of course the narcos tried to exploit my vulnerability and get me to roll on "someone in the area whose selilng pills" i gave him a bullshit firs tname in some apartment complex and that seemed to work, bc they ended up letting me go with 2 parking tickets, one for parking by a hyrdran, and another for doublie parking....but my engine was on + THEY pulled me over by teh hydrant, i was orignally 12 ft away/ as far as the summons for marijuana paraphanilia does anyone know what the deal w that is (it occured in queens, nyc) i'm a nurse, will this affect my abality to get ajob, etc
the cop said it might even be thrown out (the bong had no slide in it n is a crappy plastic one that was prob used less than 10 times..so there cant be mch resin in it. anways plz lend me a hand and gimme som advice if you think i should've dont someting different(obviously) what will happen due to the summon (will it fuck w me getting a job) and also if the parking tickets are someting i should debate....finally, should i ge ta lawyer?
anyone sorry for the long post but any responses/advice.knowledge you could share with me would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't go to jail, so I think you must have handled it just fine. I would get an attorney for the paraphenalia charge considering your line of work.

no this will not affect your ability to get work. well i dont know the laws in ny state actually, but here paraphernalia (esp weed) is not the same as drug possession, i dont even think it goes on your record. to be honest tho, ive never met anyone who got a paraphenalia ticket. but i think youll be cool because of what the cop said, i think if you go to court he might have been hinting that he wont show up or something similar. if i were you id consult a lawyer friend if you have one about the job issue. if you have one now, your fine. i dont know 100 percent but i dont think the paraphenalia charge would even show up on your record, more like a traffic ticket. i could be wrong tho, hopefully someone with knowlege on NY laws will chime in.

just go plead your case in the magestrates office. chances are if you continue to hang around with other addicts that are sick and still using no matter what the drug is then shit like this is going to happen. i noticed when i got rid of the people and the other things involved with this lifestyle i stopped having twin stanless bracelets that always made my thumbs numb cause i would fight them.

but chances are they are going to go light on you. if they wanted to they could have got you for the benzos and seized your subs even though you had the bottle there were other drugs in there.

I have been arrested for cds (heroin) in the Bronx and /or Manhattan 3-4 times in the past and i always received r/o/r and had all the cases expunged because i did what the judge said and stayed outta his sight for six months, which sealed the case. also no previous record on my part.
p.s. let this be a wake up call to you, and clean out the inside of your car! damn!!hah hah.
quick story: one of the times that i had got arrested was just because i was hanging out on university ave inda Bronx and some rookies was onda roof observing us peeps and so they saw me give a panhandler a dollar and so they searched me and low and behold a bag of dope was sittin pretty in my wallet all this time , i mean it musta been there fer weeks. so i was more pissed off that i didn't know the bag was there cause of the many times i was sick and without dope and/or funds, never mind i get busted for it. damn damn damn

Its worth 1k to get this off your record if it fucks you up finding work or 10 yrs from now when you and another nurse are trying to get a raise or promotion and the other person gets it cuz of a para charge on your record and you 2 have the same credentials. If you have money, spend it to get stuff off your record cuz if it ever happens again you could get treated more harshly and charged for the xanax and valium. no, i'm not being charged, the narco guy who was called on scene made it seem like he was letting , me off easy, and the cop said the paraph charge might go away or soemthing to that effect, anyways, im th eanxious type (hence the xanax and val) and freaking out, the lawyers i could consult are family friends and this would just upset my mom but hopefully a friends father will speak w me, but if anyone has any experience or knowledge to drop...drop it like its hot plz :cool:

yaeh, there is truth to that but if they ask have you ever been arrested i can still say no. i mean, i wasn't arrested, just put in cuffs and let go with 2 parking tickets and this damn paraphernalia summons. i just hope that potential employers won't see this when doing a typical bkgrnd check

thats why i say to talk to a lawyer. employers doing background checks is the main reason for you to worry about it. I mean if one employer doesn't hire you because of this charge then two weeks later another employer does hire you. Thats still 2 weeks without pay($1500-2500 i'm guessing). Look in yellow pages under criminal defense attorney. They'll take phone calls and let you know about all your questions and how much it would cost for them to get you out of it, etc.. Unless you are extremely broke, I'd be willing to pay a lawyer a grand or two to get it thrown out. You can even set up a payment agreement if you don't have the money RIGHT NOW. It won't hurt to call, get on the phone and see whats up

i know it sounds like a lot to do, but you might want to consider being able to piss clean before court so you can make a fair argument that the bong was not in fact yours, it wont get you off, but a clean piss test presented to the DA or whoever is handling your case might be helpful in getting it plead down to a lesser non drug related charge, at least ask a lawyer about it man. good luck to you btw

You may not have been charged with the pill posession, but the cops will be there if there is a trial and they WILL bring up the fact that you had the pills and that may make it harder to drop the bong charge - totally get a lawyer that can talk the judge into some type of diversion to prevent a trial. Just me 2cents.

My mother was a nurse in NY for over 20 years, even if you got caught STEALING from the hopsital they would put you in treatment first. There are many, many doctors and nurses who go through this you will not lose your job.

:rolleyes: Okay, I got busted in SOHO for selling end I ended up getting let go although I did have to spend the weekend in Central Booking. There's this thing called ACD that they give to first-time marijuana offenders in NYC (Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal.) That's probably what will happen to you since you seem like a stable person, you have a job, and it was only paraphenelia. The lawyer I used was Joe Bondy, found him in the back of High Times magazine.. highly recommended. I had to pay him $1,500 but it was worth it. The funny thing was, after my initial hearing, they scheduled my final court for 4/20. Can you believe that shit? :confused: I thought it was a joke. Anyways, like I said, they let me go completely after going to court a couple times! :D
