Well, you always get take-homes when the clinic is closed. Holidays and if your clinic is closed on Sunday, for instance. I think the federal law mandates that you have to have 30 days of complete compliance (attending dosing every day, clean urine screens, etc.) before you get one take home, but I could be wrong about that. Every clinic is different, whether it's public or private, if they have their own rules. For instance, the clinic I was at had everyone have 90 days of complete compliance before you got one take home, then another 90 days and you got two, and so on, and so on. So, to get a whole weeks worth would take a year or more of complete compliance. I never got take homes except for holidays, because of positive urine screens for the first two months, and then because I skipped once every week or two and didn't have consecutive dosing days.

If you're talking about split dosing, where you take half of your dose there at the clinic in the morning, then take the other half home with you to take later on in the day, then I'd say that--again--every clinic is going to be different. I never experienced split dosing (although I think it would have helped me) and I don't think many people at the clinic I was at did either, but I assume they would make you wait until you were relatively stable (clean UA's, etc.) before you got split doses. I think that's sort of absurd because some people need split doses to get stable, and how are you supposed to have complete compliance to get split doses if you aren't stable, and how are you supposed to be stable without the split doses? Anyway, I hope this answers your questions.

Yeah, I think a months supply is the maximum you could possibly get. For instance, I don't think any clinic would let people come in every two months or so. You have to come in at least once a month. I'm not even sure how long it would take to build up to that level. I'm guessing years. And in some cases clinics say they only want people on MMT for no longer than two years, so some could possibly never even reach that level. I'm sure that's public clinics though. From what I've heard and from my own personal experience, private clinics will let people stay on the stuff for as long as they want.

some clinics, free ones, want you there as long as possible. they dont care if you piss dirty, they just want money from the state that they get by your attendance. i had a friend in seattle in this situation, he went to the clinic twice a week, took him i think a year and a half to get that many take homes, and every week he was stressin about being kicked out for pissing dirty. well that day never came, they just needed the money from the state so that was cool. he would just take all the methadone on the day he got it and used dope on the days off, sounded like a pretty good gig.
