Anyone know any good ways to get doctors to prescribe opiate pain relievers? I have been to the emergencey room before complaining of migraines, back pains and toothaches and they have never given me anything worth taking. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

I have found that nothing spells opiates to a doc faster than kidney stones. Having had several myself, I quicky learned that the main thing they look for is blood in the urine. Many times I have gone into an urgent care, complaining of pain in my side and blood in my urine. Then when they have me pee in the cup, I prick my finger and drop a little in. The urine analysis will show positive for blood and they assume it's a kidney stone. Most docs will prescribe several days worth of heavy opiate pain relievers. Just don't put in too much, a drop will do. Just enough to color the piss. Works every time, especially if you say you have had a stone in the past and it feels the same. Good look and happy hunting!

Kidney stones? Thats a good one.
I think the main thing is finding the right doc and having health insurance will help alot too. So be prepared to spend a lot of time in a waiting rooms if your commited. What worked for me years back was lower back and knee pain. Only you have to relate it to something in your life. Make him believe that you cant get through your work day(it helps if you have a job that keeps you on your feet ten hours a day) without it. "I think I might get fired if I keep having these problems doc. My boss is getting real pissed." Dont over do it though.
It's not really something I could ever see myself or anyone else supporting their habit with, but I have heard of people getting busted who doctor shop. Getting the same scripts filled for the same reasons with a multitude of doctors. I guess to do this you would have to cover a large area where you live. I imagine that this practice is getting harder and harder to be succesfull in.
You better hope that noone with legitimate pain prescriptions sees this they might get mad. Even people that arent getting prescribed under false pretenses are having trouble getting filled nowadays.
Good luck getting them though. Let us now how it goes and if it goes well how you did it.
