In my experience there is no similarity. If I didn't know that Kratom affected opiate receptors, I wouldn't have had any idea from the effects I felt. It was speedy-feeling and generally didn't make me feel any better than I did without it.

Well, for me kratom has a significant effect on opiate receptors. I have had experiences that go from a speedy, non-opiate-like effect, to a nodding, nauseas, too-much-opiate effect. It took me several tries to get it right.

But now that I know what I'm getting into and how to make the tea, I've found that FOR ME the effect is similar to hydro. But there is a ceiling to the amount of high I can get, and a couple of times when I tried to go over I paid for it with nausea.

I should add that I use potentiators, depending on what effect I want, and also synergistic additives.

Let me clarify that I say 'like hydros', as in more similar to them than any other opiates. It is not exactly like hydros... I should also add that I have no tolerance to street or pharm opiates anymore, and this may be a factor.

Hello History,

I also take kratom, alot. I am spending tons of cash on k. and I feel I have reached my ceiling as far as tolerance is concerned. I am about 10grams per day. I long for the effects I used to get when I began taking kratom. What things to you use to potentiate kratom? I have heard of several things, k.galanga, yerba mate, but I have never tried these. Are you able to use less kratom when you add these potentiators? I would sure like to get more bang for my buck these days.
Thanks!

From what I've experienced, I can also say that if I didn't know that it effects opiate receptors, I would never have guessed it from the effects. To me, it felt absolutely nothing like an opiate. But then again, I've read that salvia also can feel like an opiate, so everything obviously effects everyone different.

In conjunction with tea, I felt a lot more speedy and my jaw was tight the entire day. I hated that feeling. I felt really tense the next day as well.
The next time I tried it in a larger dose, because I read that smaller doses provide a speedier effect and larger doses are more sedating. I've tried the 'super powder' 3 times (I used all 12 grams in those 3 tries) and have yet to feel anything that resembles an opiate. I do have a tolerance to tea, but it isn't a large tolerance at all.
I honestly can agree with exitwound that I don't think kratom made me feel any better in any way than I feel without it, and from my experience so far, it did not in any way improve the experience when taken with other opiates. In fact, the speedy feeling and tight jaw really bothered me because I don't like feeling like that (which is probably why I like opiates so much, they are almost the opposite of an anxious, speedy, jaw-clenching substance).
