bup and valium

Hi everyone, I started my suboxone last week and its been great! While i was on the methadone I would take 5mg of valium in the morning and at night for anxiety and a taste of relaxation. My question is, Would it be safe to do the same while on the suboxone? I am on 16mg a day. Also, Does anyone have any good buprenorphine tapering methods? I only want to stay on this shit a short period of time, even though my insurance is covering it.

I know my doctor would never script me a benzo while I am on Suboxone. In fact from my conversations with him I doubt he would ever script a benzo simply because of the face I am being treated for abusing another drug, that drug being opiates. So from my experience I wouldn't tell your doctor that your taking the valium unless he is the one scripting it. If you already knew all this then sorry for the long post, but I figured I would let you know just in case. Anyway you should be fine with the Valium, that is a small dose however if you start taking much larger doses there have been some overdoses attributed to benzos combined with Suboxone. www.heroin-detox.com has a lot of good info on their messageboard for suboxone and tapering off it.

taking the same amount of valium as when you were on the methadone would be safe, i'm assuming. (and neither is relatively safe, from what i gather, but would it hurt at this point? nah.....)
