This is probably a stupid question but I will ask anyway. My doc gave me 90 of the 5/500 hydro's and it says "take 3 a day for a month" on the bottle. There is probably no way of getting them re-filled before a month is up, is there? Just wonding. Thanks

No, at least not in canada.. and if not in canada than probabaly not anywhere else :P
ALL narcotics and even benzos and some other drugs CANNOT and WILL not be refilled by pharmacists until you are completely done taking them, according to their records. So this means if on the morning of march 1st you were given 90 (taking 3 a day), you cannot get your prescription refilled until march 31st.
The only possibility that you could get them, is if a leniant, bad pharmacist gave them to you early, but that is like never because of the strict security over these drugs, OR your doctor approved it for you to get them early. A way to do that is to tell your doctor that you're going on vacation for 4 weeks or soemthing.. but even that is risky.

If you have any questions let me know.

I think it usually depends upon the pharmacist unless the script specifically states when it may be refilled. If the doctor specified 30 days then I imagine the pharmacist would have to check with the doctor to refill earlier. I've had a doctor do this before and this stipulation was stated as part of the dosing instructions.

One the other hand I've had a script filled that didn't have a refill stipulation and Wallgreens refused to refill it a week or so later, whereas I never have any problem getting it refilled just as soon at my regular mom-and-pop pharmacy.

the only way ive done it is to go see the doc, pay the full amount for the visit, and IF he gives you a new script, ive taken it to a pharm that knows me. I usually alternate pharms each month, in cycles of three, so if i happen to get a new script in 2 weeks, ill go to a pharm that i havnt been to in a month and a half, and they know my script hasn't changed so they won't call the doc to ask when the last time i was there.
if you go to a new pharm, you run a chance of getting someone who will call the doc, and the doc will cover his ass by saying he was here less then a month ago. and the pharm will tell you to go fuck yourself, and your doc will be pissed at you.

its risky cuz you may loose a good hook up, but if it works, don't abuse the doc, cuz hell happily cut you off

once i took all my lorazepam and went into the pharmacy like 20 days early and said somebody took my pills from my locker at work ( i didnt have a locker at work) and they called my doc and he ok'd it... but that was a schedual IV drug... i think i accually did that twice and the second time my doc ok'd it but said to get a doc here in california (he was in colorado) and took away the remaining 5 refills...

also, i had an ativan script filled in colorado, took all the pills, went to a new doctor here in cali and got prescribed it again...

it was a different pharmacy (rite aid, the first script was at sav on) but the pharmacist said "you have to pay cash because this was an early refill"

i dont know if he knew that cause i was trying to use insurance or if all pharms comminicate on a nationwide basis
