View Full Version : Intern For Obama!

That's right guys -- I'm an official Intern for the 12th District Florida for Change Obama campaign. (I do get a stipend, also) --- not only am I Intern, I'm captain for faith-based out reach -- and Team Captain for Precincts 330-339.
BUSY BUSY BUSY, I breathe, eat, sleep: Obama.
Today, I went to 5 churches (All African American) and got 43 new Dem. Voter Regs.
Over the past 2 months, I've registered over 600 New Democrats in Polk County.
Over the past six months, and currently we have registered over 6,500+ dems -- The DEC (who for the first time isn't working with the Obama campaign, since he's the first presidential candidate to decline Public Financing) AKA No government money is going into his pocket. 70% of his money has been raised by PEOPLE LIKE US making $20-$150 donations. I made a $200 donation. (McCain, however, has chosen to accept public financing.. meaning our tax dollars are being spent on his campaign whether you're for or against him!)
http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.php
That website shows you the presidents income, who is donating to them, their top donors - etc.
For Obama, his top donors are Microsoft, Google, and other blue chip.
For McCain, it's BIG OIL!
Also, at that website -- you can check your local congressional races and see who's getting what and write your editor (for the paper) and GET THE WORD OUT! Let get more Dems. in the House and Senate and let's make 2008-2010 a DEMOCRATIC controlled congress!
Obama, instead of giving Oil companies tax breaks, is/will tax them $220 billion and then send each American another rebate check (Instead of the $300 you probably got, $600 if you're lucky)
The Obama stimulus is $1600! That's money from the oil companies coming back into our pocket.
If you live in Florida and want to get active in the grassroots effort for Obama LET ME KNOW! PM me and I'll get you set up. If you don't live in Florida and still want to get active for Obama or other Dems. -- PM me and I'll get you set up for your area on who to talk too!
Let's go OBAMA/BIDEN O8!

My son and I are supporters. My son, who is only 17, has actually given more money than I have. He's been following this race with a passion I've never witnessed. We are going to a party being held by the Dem's of Washington on the night of his nomination. I'm very excited to see history in the making.
Good for you for being so involved!

i'm pro Obama but ripping off the oil companies just to buy votes with a $1600 check. no thanks. How about using that tax money to pay off some of the $9,000,000,000,000 of national debt?
It may not be sexy but it is responsible.

i think he made a good choice in running mate, a guy who kind of fills in the gaps of experience, so to speak. ima vote for him, cause i definitely dont wanna see four more years of bush with a different name (mccain). would have liked to see ron paul tho, but oh well.

I'm all about ripping off some oil companies, especially if I get a 1600 dollar check. But i've liked the guy since he was a jr. senator and gave that speech during the '04 DNC. The fucker has got some charisma. Thanks Diluted for fighting the good fight in a state that has got some shady history in recent elections.

That's certainly when I first caught wind of him. I have a group of friends online, we all had our kids the same month, and the majority of them are Republicans, many very right wing Republicans. Following Obama's speech at the DNC, some of those same women were suddenly singing his praises. One even said she'd vote for him if he ran for president. I'd never in my life seen such a thing. And at that point I realized this guy has something special going for him. He does seem able to bridge gaps and unify people.
I like him. The first time I saw/heard of him was when he was on the Daily Show a few years ago. I know that that is not the best source of info, but it is what it is. He was asked his opinion on the situation in Iraq.
He said that the situation in Iraq is like a bus in the ditch. No one is sure how it got there. No one is exactly sure on how to get it out. But, one thing is for sure - they should fire the driver.
That was my first introduction to him, and I liked him then. I thought 'he should run for president'. Now I think I will vote for him. If nothing else he is the lesser of two evils.
EDIT: I am also in favor of ripping of the "Big Oil", they have certainly ripped all of us off. I'd be happy to accept a check in any dollar amount!

im for a kucinich paul ticket................
I would fuckin' love it if kucinich got into the white house. But since he is the real deal and can't be bought it will never happen. His ideas are too practical and compassionate for him to have a chance. I wish though.
So considering what's at stake I'm gonna have to go with Obama but as time goes by I wonder if he really has a chance. It's discouraging sometimes for sure. But i have the audacity to hope. hehe.

And 3rd party vote is just a vote for McCain my friends,
AND TRUST ME -- I know, i was there -- I felt that 'well, if no one does it than it'll never be done' mentality -- the "I'm making a difference" mentality by going 3rd party -- but
We all know, that no matter what, it's a wasted vote. You'll even agree. I went through that in 04.
My mother is on the school board in Manatee County and got me invited into a ritzy party on Thursday night when he accepts the nomination. Yay! $20 entry, all prnocedes go to Obama campaign, cash bar.
Oh well, we'll get drunk and yell and scream.
So since I'm Intern for this district I've got a lot of people under me, and today I've been hitting up the colleges -
aye ya ya ya it's been so busy!
But, when you watch CNN (and Bias FOX) and you see those 47 and 47% -- WHO CARES! It's all about STATE VRS STATE -- Electoral Vote, who cares about the national 'average'
It's the states that count!
Esp. the swing states, Florida, Ohio, Penn., Michigan, Colorado, Neveda, New Mexico, and Virgina.
Some of the states have been RED FOR DECADES, but now with Obama it's amazing how much grassroots is going!
If he wins Ohio, he wins the election. If he loses Ohio, he must get FL. If he loses FL, and Ohio -- he must get Virgina, Michigan, and all the mid-west swing states.
The country shows they're sick of Republicans and their values and politics.
It's time for a change!
OBAMA/BIDEN '08! (contact me if you want to get active, esp. if you're in a swing state!)

He's going to TAX THEM MORE -- but's just for US to get a $1600 check! Clinton didn't have a debt. Bush suddenly did.
C'MON! We need more Dems. in the Senate and Congress, let's get rid of the Republican incumbents and get some fresh Democrats in there!

Yeah, not only with his foreign affairs experience, but might also help Obama conquer more of the blue collar white vote, of which he has struggled to win in the past in some redneck corners. His stance on abortion, in addition to ending american involvement in Iraq, doesnt bode well with rednecks who love their guns and bibles. Im not a US citizen so Im prepared to be flamed for what could easily appear to be an ignorant view, but this has been presented to me on the other side of the pond.
And still as a non-US citizen, I sincerley hope the world sees a democratic government ruling the US for the next 8 years.

What would one have to actually do? I'm going to vote for him, and I live in Ohio, but I"m not in the least interested in walking door to door to have people sign stuff. Maybe volunteer to take calls or something, but that's it. I'm just not that interested in politics. If, however, the campaign could manage to get me some dope, that'd be different however....j/k.
