Tuesday, my wife was taking the mail out and had a mail cart run over her toe. It almost ripped her toenail off; she had to go to the doctor and he finished removing the nail and bandaged it. He gave her 20 Hydro's 5/500. She had ridden with a friend to work that morning because I had a doctor appointment. This is an older guy and he's a disabled Vet; I think he has back trouble. Anyways, he run by his home while bringing my wife home and when he pulled into his drive his wife was standing there with a huge ass bottle. When my wife got home, I saw the bottle and was thinking, great, they gave her some 800mg Ibuprofen. I like those cause I don't have to take a bazillion at a time... I grab the bottle and lo and behold, its a fucking bottle with 240 5/500 Vics... the old man just gave them to her. He said the gets a bottle every month and rarely takes them. I guess the VA mails it to him every month.....

I just don't get it. My wife won't taken em.. and thank god really, cause 240 vics is enough to give someone like her a habit. They won't help me much, but you can cool ass believe we won't be giving them back. I locked the fuckers up for that rainy day that's sure to come every month... :rolleyes: Might not help my pain much but gauranteed to keep me well for a few days. Some people.. I just don't understand someone not taking opiates when they have em... or, people like my wife who hates the way they make her feel.... shit, that's what I love about them... I don't feel shit!

Oh, and I almost forgot, the wife is okay. She took yesterday day off, but she hobbled out of the house this morning and got into the car with the same ole fellar to go to work. Maybe he'll swing by the house again on the way home... LOL

This blows my mind too...i mean WHY do they get huge bottles if they aren't gonna take em or at least sell them. WEIRD....but then again they probably think WE are weird. My mom and sister are the exact same way..the HATE the way they make them feel, they almost puke blah blah blah. Although 5mg vikes aren't SHIT,,, a bottle of 240 just MIGHT come in handy one day real soon. HEY the opiate Gods have shined down on you, be HAPPY ... who the hell knows WHAT ELSE the guys got. I'd have em over for a nice Saturday night evening of dinner, cards AND PILLS!!! ;) LOL LOL

That's cool. Hope your wife dosn't need them. Sometimes grace shines on you. Back in 78 or so when I liked em but had no habit, an old black wwll vet would give me 50=60 T4's each month that the VA in Decatur gave him. He wouldn't take them cause they made him constipated. They went well with the weed coke and alcohol I was using daily. Might have helped wean me off the demon coke and alcohol. Show yer appreciation to the old guy. Good news.

Not bad. By the way, if you do a cold water extraction on them, it's more efficient the more of them you do at once. On the other hand, if you do too many at once, you risk losing a lot if you screw up somehow.

OxyQ, I didn't think of that. HE said that he literally has bottles of the shit. I believe it too... this bottle is about a month from being a year old.. who knows how many bottles that old man has.. and to think, someone is going to be cleaning that medicine cabinet out when he dies.. I will definitely get on his good side: dinner, cards, adoption... maybe he can add me to his will. All I want is the pills..:D

Raz! How's it going my friend? The misses has a broke foot? Did that happen recently? I hope she's doing well now. Broke ribs suck too.. they take forever to heal, and you can re-injure them so easily.

Indy, I will definitely be doing a CWE. I do not want to have any liver problems. I was really surprised to see that the script said that the old guy could take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours. That's 6 grams of tylenol a day if he took the max prescribed. That's scary to think there are docs out there that are just that stupid!

Yeah, Mr Natural, I will definitely do something for the guy. Maybe have the wife ride with him another day and wear a mini skirt and hills.. Think the little medical shoe she's having to wear right now will throw the ensemble off? :) Course, I always liked my women on crutches or a chair; kept them from being able to run as fast... the old man is almost dead as it is.. something like that is liable to throw him into a heart attack for sure! Hmm... I wonder if I could somehow help his widow take care of his things.... wheels are turning now....:p

I'd offer the guy some money for helping the wifey and say somethin like "I've heard people will pay like $.50 a piece for those things". If the bottle is a year old and he gets 240 every month x 12 months, the old geezer might give you 2500+ vics for a few hundred bucks

Most people I know don't touch them. They have surgery, or dental procedures, pick up their script, take MAYBE two and never touch them again. (I actually first acquired a habit when I realized my father had a lot of percs from various things that he didn't want.)

I have friends who will literally vomit or get too dizzy from one vicodin. It's so hard for me imagine.

The only time I had a bad reaction was the first time I took an Oxy 20 mg. I was taking a handful of percs a day at that point. My first Oxy hit me like a sledgehammer, and I woke up buck naked on the couch. I remember getting very very hot. I never had that sort of reaction again.

But I've shared on here before, it's very hard for me to get high, regardless of the substance. I can drink like a fish and feel nothing. I can eat pills and get the most mild of buzzes (have never really nodded), I can smoke crack like a fiend, and still put the pipe down, go to bed, eat, and get back up with more crack. It's just different. It's also probably saved my life, although I do admit I'm a bit jealous when I hear other people describe how they feel when they get high.

Yeah, my wife has her little bottle of 20... I think she's taken 3 since tuesday. I asked her if she took one at work, she said no... I was like, WTF??? Who doesn't want to be laid back at work???? It makes her too tired and shit... oh well, here's to hoping that never changes... :)

Ask him if he's got anything stronger. If he's got bottles of Vics, maybe he has bottles of Percs or Dilaudid.

Only and opiophile would understand this, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to CP sufferers and DO NOT mean to belittle their pain, but I hope when I'm old like this guy (in my 70's / 80's) I'll have enough problems to merit a nice, legal, prescription(s) to narcotics, the stronger the better.

And yeah, my sisters and mom are the same way. They'll get the script filled, but will only take one or two of the pills, then either throw the rest away or hide them (from me). They say they don't like the way they feel on it. I totally don't understand that. How can you not like it? It just baffles me.
