Free basing codeine

I've read a few reports about this, and I'm wondering if its worth trying. I get good results by extracting codeine from OTC pills but I want to take it to the next step. Possibly to smoke it or make something even more exotic.

I've already tried soaking a few cigarettes in a strong codeine solution and drying tem in a low heat, it felt pretty good, not as impactful as drinking it, but thats my problem. I feel sick and very sleepy when I drink it, I mostly doze off feeling very sick then wake up an hour later feeling great.

I might try squirting it where the sun dont shine. ;)

Anyhow I'm enjoying learning about the uses of codeine and I look forward to any replies that can help me make this product into something truely spectacular.

But don't IV it (codeine); it needs to go trought liver and demethylate back to morphine. Otherwise, hard histamine release and problems... Codeines activity is much based on it's demethylation to morphine (it is methylmorphine or methylated morphine).

I'm not sure about codeine, but there's no point in brownin hydrocodone.... may as well swallow it..... I have only heard that morphine-typed chems (due to bioavailability) are great in the pooper. Then again, I know folks who brown oxycodone...which is synthetically altered towards the codeine molecule...anyway.... anyone ever browned codeine?

yeah it's been stated many times that rectal admin of codeine is one of the most effeciant ways, and is less upseting to the stomach. It has risks though as it's easy to do some damage if your not carefull, I know that if you poke a hole in your rectum your in some serious trouble as it will definatly get infected and I cant imagine going to the doctor and trying to explain how it happened, lol.

I honestly don't know what type of activity you would see with Codiene in it's freebase form but I can walk you through how to do it. First off if you are doing a CWE with canadian Codiene pills you are going to have to also work out an extraction for the remaining Caffiene as this could mess up your proceedure, if you are working with T3s and the like just CWE and go from there. That being said:

Take your Codiene powder and dissolve it in water on low heat. Basify with something (lets say ammonia) and let it reflux for a few. Next extract from the water with methyl chloride which will leave behind any reaction residue. I would perform a couple of these methyl chloride extractions and then evaporate off the methyl chloride leaving you with your freebase Codiene.

I understand everything you just posted...however, I believe there are a great many people who would not be able to pull it off as directed. Anyone have a GOOD kitchen chemistry guide...they explain extractions, prurification techniques, easy to make reflux aparatus guides, etc.... Here are some that I have found.... none are GREAT, but they all have good info to offer. The procedure chemboy7 posted is not difficult..... you just need to understand the lingo and what is actually happening. e careful and have fun!

That's also a good link for those that want to learn alittle about clandestine chemistry. It's more of a forum than a site, and I am not a member, but I do like to puruse through there and read the post from time to time.

As for if I have heard of any results, unfortunately I haven't. I know that Codeine has a fairly low melting point and thus will be deminished if not destroyed if you try to use heat to evaporate the water from a CWE in an attempt to get the drug in it's powdered form... so smoking Codeine in it's standard forms may be wasteful if not useless, although it may be possible that converting it into it's freebase may alter the melting point in your favor, I really don't know though.

Definitely, but in the case of codeine, plugging doesn't make much sense. It's a pro-drug and is useless until it goes through first-pass oral metabolism which converts it into morphine.....
