My friend got some coke the other day and loaded up his rig did a shot and now he's complaining of this. I'm a little worried and because I dont shoot I'm not sure what to tell him.
I Know someone here has probably had the same thing happen to them or at least will be able to steer me in the right direction.
He says then next day his whole right side went numb.. Actually this is exactly what he said
"i didnt want to worry you but after i did that shitty coke i noticed the next day that my right leg up to my right arm, right shoulder, and right side of neck were numb...i waited 3 days to tell you just to see if this would go away but it hasnt ."
Here is the other thing he said
"maybe I waited to long to inject the shit when blood was in the barrel and now i have a clot fucking up my right side i dunno wtf this is"
He has no pain, no abses or any un normal marks where he shot! Could this be some kinda blood clot? could it be the cut that was in the coke? btw the coke was the shittiest coke ever! I wish he would have done a line or something before he shot it cuz ultimately he coulda ended up way worse!! The shit was total bunk!!
Any suggestions that you guys got I'd rele appriciate!! I'm worried about him and he knows he may have to goto the hospital! But I was hoping you guys would know a little more about what may have went wrong.
Thank You opy famdamly

I'm going to call him now!
I'd still like to hear if anything like this has happend to anyone else.. Circulation?? maybe
btw,
PB I like that quote too! As you can see I have a habit of snagging your quotes..LOL
He coulda hit a nerve also

Hitting a nerve is not going to effect the whole side of your body, this sounds like a stroke. Go to the hospital and tell them exactly what happened.

I've let him know his only option is the hospital.. I was wondering because it's been three days. I dont know much about heart attacks or strokes would he still be able to function three days later? This all started a couple of days ago he only informed me now tho.

It depends on the severity and location of the stroke. You could drop dead instantly or you could hardly notice a thing. Best to get it checked out,
Yeah,it could well be a stroke.
Obviously get his ass to a hospital.

Hey guys thank again for the info but I'm hoping to hear from more of you that may have had anything like this happen as well as what it was when it did happen to you?
I dunno why anyone would want to mess with their life but it's proven to be very hard to convince him to goto the hospital, he's nervous, young and just not thinking st8 right now. I know as well as you all have said that he NEEDS to go to the DR ASAP but you know "youngins" it's not so easy to convince them.. UGH!!!!!! Happy Fuckin Sunday eh 'frustration'
Thanks yall!

Unfortunately he's in another state than me or I woulda drug his ass to the ER!
He went to his mother's who is an RN and he will go from there so at least we were able to convince him to get some help NOW rather than 2late!! I'll let ya know what the outcome of it all is.
I'd like to rip the gizzerd outta the fuctard that made up and sold that dope!

EErased, the good news is that shooting up won't cause a stroke from the actual injection. We shoot up into veins. Venous blood goes to the right side of the heart and then the lungs & then back to the left side of the heart, now as oxygenated blood that goes out the arteries. Strokes happen from the arterial side, not the venous side. Now if the cut was some shitty stuff, it would end up in his lungs. causing a small infarct (damaged area), but not symptoms like he's having.
The question remains though, WTF is wrong with your friend? So this RN agrees he needs to go to the hospital ASAP.

coulda missed a little bit
sometimes when ive shot coke, i get 99% into the vein
but near the end i start shaking and miss a few drops
and don't notice until the next day/whenever i come down some
but when i do notice, i've had my whole arm/hand/foot/leg be totally numb
and that shit LASTS...
hell i'm not a dr, it could be something way more serious than that
but it's a definite possibility

i worked at a rehab with a guy, and he told me that he used to shoot stuff in his juggular. one day he shot some coke in his juggular, which he called "black curtains" cause he said it made your vision go black like curtains comming down. when he came to he was on the floor, and he was paralyzed on the right side of his body for 6 months. he still doesnt know why, but he thinks it has something to do with they way his neck hit the floor when the "curtains" came down.

I'm hopin thats what it is! I've not heard from him in couple hours and he said he would call if he went to the ER or felt worse. So I'm thinking he may be ok! I wish tho he woulda went earlier and got checked out.

You have to have some industrial size ballz to shoot coke in your jugular, I wonder who the first person that shot in there jug was thinking..Hmmm. Let me see no no not there maybe the ahhh yea the jugular!! Wow.. I would be scared to death. I'm scared of shooting (thank goodness) but I just cant imagine black curtains! Must be a wild ride!

Unfortunately there might be a chance that he actually hit an artery, right?
Yeah, we always go for veins alright, but unfortunately we don't always get the veins - sometimes we miss and get the arteries, in which case there could be a chance of getting a blood clot or even a stroke in a very unfortunate event.
Most of the time when you hit an artery, you'd know that you did because of the instant jolt of pain you'd get from it.
But i know that sometimes there is actually hardly any pain at all when you hit an artery - you just get a lot of blood expelling from the shot site and a fast growing bump that feels/looks like a lymphnode. But i think that's only if the artery is relatively close to the surface, right? If it's deep enough you might not be able to tell just by looking at it.
So if he did hit an artery with coke, it probably wouldn't be as painful in any case since coke is naturally a local anesthetic + the fact that it might have some other crap like lidocaine, etc they may have put into it makes it even more of a local anesthetic.
Like everyone has already said, it's best to go to the hospital asap.
Hopefully it will be alright though

The only thing is there was VERY LITtLE COKE in the coke..
It's unreal what ppl will sell passing off as dope. The moral of the story is even if you know who your getting from still test it as they might not have. It coulda killed him. I guess now that he's not dead or going to die the anger sets in to the fact that he could be. Because of some punk ass bitch selling junk! In an 8 ball I'd be shocked if there was more than .5 gram of coke!!
What in yall's opinion would you do to the dealer? Had he almost killed ya or made you sick even?

Can he move his arm and all that on the affected side of his body? Or does it just feel numb?
When I was in my shooting H days I lost the use of my arm for a few months. It felt numb and I could not move it no matter how hard I tried. Dumb ass me never went to a doctor or anything because I was straight up fuckin consumed by my habit at that time. Eventually the use of it came back and I am fine today. I still don't know why it happened though.

Yea this has happend to me w/coke & heroin mixed & I no people who have felt like this kinda from just heroin.
I really dought it is a stroke, b/c it would not just be his body but he would have his eye or eye's a lil rolled back or cocked, if u no what I mean. He has to be real in detail on what is up, ask him if you were worried about this & it was really bothering you wouldn't you have brought ur self 2 the e.r. by now?
Is it that he can not walk, or use that arm?
But what Shelley said is true, & has happend w/me & has happend w/just heroin. People would tell me that after there shot of heroin, for a week they would have no feeling in there forearm but they can use it but it's numb....
HOPE THAT HELPED.

I didn't get 2 read this but this is what I said to. Sometimes it can take weeks to get the numbess to go away. & it does not have to be coke, it could be heroin like I said.

I know this is a day or two late but he needs to go to the ER ASAP. It sounds like a stroke. There is NO reason shooting up would cause the WHOLE side of ones body to go numb. Cocaine has been known to cause heart attacks and strokes via any ROA. He could have been experiencing what is called a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) or Mini-stroke, that's where the blood flow to brain is interrupted for a short period of time, the person will experience stroke like symptoms for a short period. This is still dangerous as it could be a precursor to a major stroke. In your friend's case the blood flow to the left side of the brain would have been interrupted since he is experiencing right-sided numbness. Please tell him to go get checked out ASAP if he hasn't already.
I know alot about this subject because my dad had several strokes, one that eventually took his life. He also ignored the intial symptoms and wrote them off as being a nerve in his neck. Major strokes can be devastating; not only can they cause death but even worse are the physical and mental disabilities. When my dad had his first major stroke, I had to watch him learn to walk again. He had to relearn how to use his left arm and hand. He made a decent recovery but this last one that took his life was very hard for us to cope with. It occured in the back of the brain, which controls vision and alot of the higher thinking processes, memory, etc. He lost vision in one half of each eye; imagine looking at something and seeing black out of the left part of both eyes and seeing okay out of the right part. Weird. He also had NO short term memory, when I say none I mean it. His recall was about 15 seconds. He also could not find the words for things. If you showed him a tennis ball and asked him what it was he couldn't tell you. But if you asked him what you do with it, he would throw it. All of this was bad but it he continued down hill like this for about 2 weeks before he passed. It is terrible to see this happen to someone you love. I feel very passionate about stroke awareness, PLEASE don't ignore the warning signs.
Symptoms of Stroke
If you believe you or someone you know is experiencing any of these signs do not hesitate to call 911 for immediate treatment!
Suddenly feeling weak in an arm, hand or leg
Cannot feel one side of your face or body
Suddenly cannot see out of one eye
Suddenly have a hard time walking
Cannot understand what someone is saying
Feeling dizzy or losing your balance
Having the worst headache you have ever had
How to Recognize a Stroke
If you think someone is having a stroke, remember the 60 second test:
1. Ask the individual to smile.
2. Ask him or her to raise both arms.
3. Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence, like "It is sunny out today."
IF THE INDIVIDUAL HAS TROUBLE WITH ANY OF THESE TASKS, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!
Effects of Stroke
Motor impairment and loss of sensation often on one side of the body
Difficulty with speech
Limited visual fields and trouble with visual perception
Loss of emotional control and changes in mood
Cognitive deficits
Problems with memory
Problems with judgment
Problems with problem solving
Or a combination of all of these
What is a stroke?
A stroke or "brain attack" occurs when a blood clot blocks an artery (a blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the body) or a blood vessel (a tube through which the blood moves through the body) breaks, interrupting blood flow to an area of the brain. When either of these things happen, brain cells begin to die and brain damage occurs.
When brain cells die during a stroke, abilities controlled by that area of the brain are lost. These abilities include speech, movement and memory. How a stroke patient is affected depends on where the stroke occurs in the brain and how much the brain is damaged.
For example, someone who has a small stroke may experience only minor problems such as weakness of an arm or leg. People who have larger strokes may be paralyzed on one side or lose their ability to speak. Some people recover completely from strokes, but more than 2/3 of survivors will have some type of disability.
Stroke related to cocaine use is a blockage in the blood supply to the brain and loss of brain function in someone who has used the drug. Stroke related to cocaine probably occurs because cocaine causes blood vessels to narrow (constrict) while it increases blood pressure (hypertension). This vasoconstriction can be severe enough to reduce or block blood flow through the arteries in the brain. Cocaine use also can lead to swelling (inflammation) of the arteries of the brain. Stroke related to cocaine is most common in men under 40 years old. A history of recent cocaine use is a risk.
A few people who experience stroke after using cocaine have an arteriovenous malformation, which may make them more likely to have a stroke. In these cases the stroke is due to bleeding in the brain instead of decreased blood flow.
And here is a large article, very indepth.
