just got 4 20 mg opanas. ran them under a faucet, slippery little bastards, then chewed and swallowed. didn't seem that they were IV capable. after searching, albeit a little lazily, I couldn't find a how to. any thoughts or experience with these. I feel good w/ 80 mgs in my belly but as always lookin for that 20/20 hindsight.

Takes me 160mg's of oxycodone to get a buzz on and 10-15mg's of oxymorphone (solution in nasal sprayer taken with high saturated-fat meal)FLOORS me as well as eliminates all pain throughout the body. The ONLY way i would ever do opana is intranasal, its bioavailability is nearly double that of oral. But if you are deadset on eating them, try doing so with a meal high in fat (saturated fat) right after consuming opana, ive reasearched this for hours and it seems a meal high in fat boosts the relative oral and nasal bioavailabilites by 15-35%!!! F'ng amazing.

From what I hear, the opana IR are as good a buzz IV as H,but I have seen no credible reports of shooting the opana ER.

The IR you can bang, not the ER.

Right Nick. I should've added that all my experience is with the IR formulations, i have yet to fool around with the new ER formulations, from what i hear that caranuba wax matrix is pretty tough but no time release can withhold its goodies from time itself!

I have a question. I don't know to much about Opana. It's under the hydromorphone catagory? If it is then its kick ass, right.

So do doctors take extreme caution in prescribing this medication compared to prescribing, say oc 80's or fentynal.

And is the high from Opana a lot better then oxycodone, morphine, fentynal, ect.

Opana is oxymorphone, it's a strong opiate that's related to oxycodone the same way that hydromorphone is related to hydrocodone.

Because it's a strong opiate, it's a step up from codeine and hydrocodone and doctors would have the same precaution prescribing it as they do for the other strong opiates. But some doctor's prefer to prescribe it over oxycodone as oxycodone has such a bad reputation for being abused. That seems crazy to me as prescribing someone morphine as a prevention for codeine abuse.

I've read on Erowid, that oxymorphone has a stronger sedative effect then oxycodone. And its much more bioavailable by parental routes (IV/IM, pluggin, snorting), then oral routes. This is in marked contrast to oxycodones very good oral bioavailability. So really doctors should be more concerned about people overdosing from abusing oxymorphone by taking it in another route, then they are with oxycodone.

intranasal oxymorphone blows IV oxycodone out of the water imo

so id say snort them

eating these things is a waste though

I'd make a day of going to the states just to smash one of those opanas. Pretty sure we don't get them here in Canada.

so would it be safe to ask my doc instead of recieving 30mg roxys I would rather have the equivalent of the same amount of mg of Opana?

or would I regret that?

For what it's worth.....I was on the Opana ER and IR's for about 2 months (oral), got some pain relief, but they were not buzz worthy. My pain doc thought he was giving me liquid gold, but I had to quit them for various side affects.
