Does anyone know if they test for methadone in hair analysis? On the website of the company that does most of the hair testing they said they test for "Opiates (Heroin, Oxycodone, etc.)"

Just wanna know cuz otherwise theres a few jobs that I won't pursue because they test hair.

Its a typical 5 panel so I'm assuming they wouldn't, especially since its common for ppl to be on it for maint or pain management.

It depends on the type fo test they give you. Hair tests are just like urine tests in this regard. They can do a 5 panel test, also called the drugs of abuse test. The 5 Panel test would test for THC, Cocaine, Opiates (Morphine, Codeine, Heroin only), PCP, and Methamphetamine. There are a bunch of other tests, some test for up to 15 different drugs. Some are specific, like the ones a Pain Management doctor would use. With that type of test they can test for all Opiates, nautral (Morphine, Codeine, Heroin), Semi-synthetic (Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone), and fully Synthetic (Methadone, Fentanyl, Bupe). So it all depends on the test panel.

Thanks Roxi... That helps support my theory that they don't test for any fully synthetic opiates. I bet with the rep that Oxy's gained in the last few years they do test for that and other semi synthetics tho.

its worth it to pursue those jobs anyways, because a) you dont pay for the test, they do. b) if you dont get the job, then fuck it. on your resume you only put places youve worked at, not places youve requested employment at. so no harm, no foul.

is it prescribed?
can employers discriminate if you get it from a clinic?

No its not Rx. So if they DO test for it I wouldnt have a legit excuse. I'm just guessing they don't. But does anyone have any first hand experience with this?

not necessarily. i've heard it said that in some states (like the stupid one i live in), if you test positive for illegal drugs on a screening for employment, the company is supposed to send that info to the state. now i don't know if that's actually true, or just some scare-story. but if it's true, it's some whole new kind of fucked-up.
