Probation, employment, parole...what is the test for? It really depends. Sometimes they exclude semi-synthetic opioids and some offer a more wide/detailed test. I would do some searching around if you know where they are testing you. I looked up the company that tested me for employment and found reviews, posts from people that worked their etc etc to find out how they do it and what happens after. I learned a bunch and passed my test. It was a urine test not a hair. (I went with the substitution method....too bad that dont work for hair)
Regardless you may find some good info. Other than that this is the most helpful thing I could find.
What drugs are in the 5,7,9, 12 and 14 panel?
a. The 5-drug panel consists of:
Cocaine and its metabolites, cocaethylene, benzoylecgonine, norcocaine
Methamphetamine, amphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy), MDA (Ecstasy metabolite)
Morphine, codeine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxycodone, 6-MAM
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Marijuana
b. The 7-drug panel consists of the 5 drug panel plus:
Benzodiazepines (diazepam metabolites)
Barbiturates
c. The 9-drug panel consists of the 7-drug panel plus:
Methadone and EDDP (metabolite)
Propoxyphene metabolite
d. The 12 drug panel consists of the 9-drug panel plus:
Oxycodone
Meperidine
Tramadol
e. The 14 drug panel consists of the 12-drug panel plus:
Fentanyl
Sufenanil
So I guess the answer is it's probally more rare that they test for oxycodone but it could happen...so once again it just depends. Maybe some other users will chime in with their expirences. Heres the link to where I found that. Hopefully you'll find some info that helps :)

If someone is going to the lengths and expense of getting a hair test you can bet it's going to test for the newest and most popular prescription drug to the markets in the last ten years.
They do make shampoo for these situations. Look into it.

This is a little misleading. There is no rule when it comes to the panel tests and what they test. Each company that makes home or commercial drug test kits make all sort of test. This means that it doesn't take a 12 panel test to look for oxy. So if they say your or you have information saying you will be recieving a 7panel drug test it could test for any assortment of drugs. There is no rule of thumb. It's up to the maker of the test.
Hell there aren't any guildes to the number of panels either. It doesn't have to be 5,7,9 and 12. They make 1,8,4....you name it.
If it's your parents you won't know what's going on till they hand it to you. To me it sounds like an empty threat. Your parents most likely won't be going thru the trouble to get a hair test. They will most likely go to the local CVS and grab what urine test the have in stock
My advice. Be ready for a urine test and a hair test incase your parents are two determined and wealthy people who have never said they were going to punish you in a way that they never did.

yea, ive had a 5 panel test that didnt test for PCP, but did for benzos. my parents have also bought 4 panel tests before, which i didnt even know existed and it was thc, amp, coc, and opi. there is no rule when it comes to these things.

are you sure your parents are getting one? Not only are they extremely expensive they also have to be sent off to a lab for analysis and I don't believe any person can just send them some of your hair.
Unless they are taking you to a facility that does hair testing then I'm sorry to say you probably are fucked.

Yes, if they are getting you a hair test, you are screwed. I'd just admit it to them and see where to go from there. Don't make them waste their money. They will be even more upset. OTOH, I'm not sure what they detect in a hair test. BTW, what are they accusing you of? Could you just tell them that you smoked some weed at a party or something? Would they be less upset about that? I'd look at all my options before they waste money and get more upset. If you lost the battle, man up and accept defeat. It doesn't mean you lost the war.

Sorry man but I don't really agree with this response. Just because you're 18 doesn't mean your ready to leave the nest. In fact I would say if you have supportive parents and a decent relationship with them it would be smarter to stay while in college\working and save some cash up. This way you'll be ready to fall out of the nest, and FLY rather than landing on your ass.
Also there's the whole maturity\life situation deal. Everyone has a different life style\things going on. Nowadays it seems like more people are staying at home and getting an education\enjoying not having to pay massive bills\worry about surviving.
Granted I agree that there can be many positive aspects of moving out at 18. Builds character, etc...
As for the hair test, you'll be fucked if it happens. Honesty is your best best, or even partial honesty. As others have said, say you smoked some pot\crack with a $10 hooker. Save them the cash\hassle. Man up. If my parents flat out accused me\wanted me to get tested THIS TIME I would be honest. Maybe it's because I'm getting tired of lying\struggling to maintain. I'm sure you'll get to a certain point soon enough when you'll yearn for their help.

That really wasn't my point. I'm sure the kid is better off having his parents looking out for him. I hope they can help him. These drugs are heavy and this board is for adults.
