of patches?

Yes.....The "Duragesic" brand is the most potent. You may have seen of my prior posts on the subject, but per the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1999, generics are given a 20% window of potency in regards to the brand. Thus, the "brand" is always more potent....Whether it be patches or any narcotic. Same goes for all meds. The Hatch-Waxman Act was passed in order to keep generics thriving whereas to keep drug prices down. Thus, Congress authorizes generics a large window (it's actually +/- 20%). However, brands must be exactly what they state, per the FDA's truth and labeling act. Search some of my posts and I provide much more information on the subject, if interested. I won't repeat it here.

Through much of my research and reading hundreds of testimonials, it seems that Watson is the second most effective patch, followed by Sandoz, and Mylan being the worst. In fact, I've read dozens of posts on various sites where people claim the Mylan actually put them in withdrawal.

Besides potency, generics can be very inconsistent batch to batch, and even patch to patch....Thus, patients are more likely to experience "ups & downs" as a result.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I will review your previous posts. I was concerned from a smoking perspective that the formulation's variations were even more extreme.

I'm a total n00b with Fent but can you enlighten me as to why you think Sandoz is not as good as the first 2? I had 4 of the 100 mcg/h and I think they're fucking great!

All I know is the couple times I was blessed with Duragesic, it was wonderful. Little blob smoke, repeat.:)

From someone that used fent nearly 5 years... I can say that I found Duragesic to be the best.

The only other brands I tried were Sandoz & Mylan. Sandoz was "ok" however I swear there's less gel in the patch. Pretty close in potency (smoking), but still not as good as Duragesic.

Mylan sucked, bad. I am one that got w/d's from Mylan.

Here's the weird thing for me... normally I only get Sandoz patches or brand name. They were out of both at my pharmacy and I was sick of abusing my patches anyhow, so I am on the Mylan's. They are working very well for me. Better worn than the Sandoz or Duragesic. These are the 100mcg patches. My first experience with Mylan's sucked though - they were 50 mcg patches and so small, that I think there was no surface area to establish the proper sized intradural pool of fentanyl. I alternate the patch every three days now with the patch directly over my cephalic vein in my bicep. This may all be chocked up to the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1999 (these patches have a plus instead of a minus 20%), or perhaps it is just the larger surface area of the 100 mcg Mylan placed over a large vein in my bicep. Too many variables to tell the true culprit in this expirement. I'm just glad they're doing their job.

Because I think the Duragesic has the most fent in it, followed by Watson, and then Sandoz. I've read many testimonials where patients claim the Mylan have put them in WDs.

Again, per the Hatch-Waxman act of 1999, generics are permitted a 20% variance to the brand in terms of the active ingredient. Thus, the brand is always more potent. I've also heard where the Watson does a good job, but I've not tried it. They are positioned in the market as a upper end product. I've personally tried both the Duragesic and Sandoz, and there is no comparsion....Duragesic is far more potent. It also sticks better. The Sandoz peel up after about a day. Apparently, the Duragesic folks use much better glue.

Hope this helps some.
