Here's a holiday story you just won't believe.


A family found an owl in their Christmas tree, and the bird apparently had a little hooter in him.


A small screech owl was found in a live Christmas tree that a family bought.


They kept the tree for five days before they decided to decorate it.


When they did, they found the owl. Animal control officers came to get the owl, and when they did, they made a shocking discovery!


"I kept smelling him and smelling him, saying 'What is that odor'. It was lying there as happy as can be,"says one animal control officer who was at the scene.


"Curiously enough, the owl's feathers smelled very, very potently like marijuana," says Animal Control Officer Dering. They examined the owl, looked at its eyes, big owl eyes, and the owl was, in the vernacular, stoned."


Blood tests confirmed the owl was flying high, on marijuana.


They checked him out, fed him and named him Cheech.


He'll be released in a few days.

LOL :D Good one, buddy! Wish I had a zinger for ya too, but I guess I'm no fun today cuz instead I have an overwhelming urge to debunk it...

First off, I doubt the owl got high from a 'hot box!' Although the contact high phenomenon is urban legend in my book, an owl with such little body weight might be able to pull that excuse. I agree with saint, more than likely the owl ingested the THC. AFAIK, there aren't any animals that feed on marijuana buds, in fact I always thought the skunky smell and intoxicating effects were a result of natural selection so animals wouldnt eat them. Even if I'm completely wrong, I'm pretty sure owls are carnivorous. So I'm thinking the little guy musta got into a batch of edible confections somebody concocted. Besides, I always thought you had to eat WAY more straight buds to get high than you would if you ate buds cooked in oil or butter. Not to mention a high from smoking has much shorter effects than a high from eating edibles, so unless the owl just toked up he wouldnt still be high whereas he could have eaten something way earlier and still be stoned as all hell.

My question is, what form of edible marijuana would be appetizing to an owl?? Its probably a bullshit story or else somebody got the owl high on purpose. And who in their right mind would administer a drug test to an owl? Methinks its fiction...

xanax is not water soluable, sniffing it is like eating it through your nose.

I'm not saying your wrong, but why is this? I've never snorted xanax but it seems like if you eat it it still has to go through mucous membrances right? How else does it get to your blood-stream?

I provided foster care for a cat who belonged to a street person who had to leave town for awhile. Cat's name was Isis, and how her Mom managed her mental illness was to smoke large quantities of weed. She felt it was important to share with Isis, and so they'd all blow their second hand smoke in Isis' face, cupping their hands around her face sho she got good hits.
Isis did fine at my house, despite CTing off weed here. She was a little withdrawn at first but after 2 weeks of sending lots of calm loving energy vibes, she came out from under the bed and fully joined the family.

I didn't actually verify if it's water soluble or not, but if it's not - then it doesn't liquify so your mucous membranes cannot absorb it.

Yeah, I don't think it is water-soluble. I think I'm overlooking something real simple, but how does it get into your blood and not everything else you eat? I'm assuming all your insides that food travels through is sort of like mucous membranes. My science knowledge is lacking, obviously.

To rephrase it another way, why does it get absorbed at all rather than coming right out the other side with the remains of your food.
