I myslelf probably prefer lorazepam to the other benzos. I've used benzos for many years and at high doses. Most people I know prefer Xanax but that is the one I like least. What do you prefer and what is it about lorazepam you do not like?
I'm new here and this is my first post. Looks like a good community.

and WTF is a "toadum pole"? Did you mean "totem pole"?
Jeez...I guess the news reports about the rampant illiteracy in this country are well-founded. I usually re-read what I write before I post it so I don't come across as a complete idiot, but hey, that's just me.....

they are = they're
other examples
"their weed is better than his" why dont people use this
and the worst is "that shit was to strong for me" it's too t-o-o
anyways, lorazepam is pretty strong, that's the only one that has the same amnesia effect on me that klonapin has. diazepam doesnt do it, xanax doesnt do it, versed doesnt do it... just lorazepam and klonapin

I used to be scripted ativan for a long time and I think it's why my shrink stopped seeing me, she thought I was trying to get addicted to them or some bullshit like that. they didn't really fuck me up but I'm not really into benzos. I remember at a leftover crack show I had nothing except some beer and a bottle of ativan so I took a handful of them and gave a handful to the singer for loc. kinda just made me a drunken zombie. though that's what any benzo does to me so lorazepam is no exception. a friend of mine used to down 20 at a time.
that stuff is funny I remember times when I used to take them and then I would be on methadone or something and I'd start a conversation and say "what was I just talking about?" I'd forget what the fuck I was saying in midsentence.
it is excellent for killing anxiety though.

Ativan is right up there with Xanax for me for actual use in combating social anxiety. Personal I find its much easier for my body to become habituated to Xanax than Ativan. 2mg of Xanax to go out turns into 4, than 6, etc. Ativan seems to be able to hold its ability for me to treat my social anxiety with out having to increase dosing as much or as often as Xanax.
Currently I take 2mg of Ativan before a situation that might cause me anxiety, I have Klonopin running in the background at a 6mg dosage. That holds me overall but for panic attacks or uncomfortable situations [i.e court, probation, a job interview]. I switch up my regimen quite often as I dont like to become habituated to a main quick acting benzo. I cycle thru Xanax, Ativan, Halcion, Valium, and believe it or not Ambien. Ambein doesnt actually seat itself in the gaba receptors but it manipulates there lets say for ease of things body. I think there is quite a bit a potential for these Z-drugs as I call them [Zolpidem, Zolpiclone, Zaleplon] Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, Imovane, Ambien CR for controling anxiety.
These things [z-drugs] nor benzos ever put me to sleep, except for maybe IV Versed but thats a different story. Alot of people look down on Ativan but its quick action and short duration make it a good anxiolytic benzo for me. Xanax is classified as an anxiolytic also but for some reason my body just builds a tolerance to it unbelievabely quick, so I mainly rely on Ativan and occasionally Xanax.
Its next to impossible to get any recreational effects for me from benzos these days and I cant go but 24-36 hrs with out my Klonopin before I really start to feel w/d's kicking in. Unfortunately I have came to rely on Benzos for handling my anxiety/panic and also klonapin for its great anti-convulsant properties. 5 yrs ago I came off a heroin run and I was shaking just to much, enough to make me uncomfortable. Klonopin solved that now I have to slowly get off it. I have done it in the past, and have been detoxed off them medically usually by being switched to either Librium or Valium and reducing dosages than adding Phenobarbital syrup when I really start to hit the point of low doses and continuing that for a bit as I stop dosing benzos all together. Phenobarbital helps prevent seizures when detoxing off of benzo habits. I am going off topic...
Ativan is a great anxiolytic benzo and provide quick relief when I need it and I dont build a tolerance to it as fast as I do xanax. This is all for medical use not recreation. I hardly find benzos recreational these days but there always nice to throw into the mixing pot if you know what you are doing.

You are so right about that illiteracy thing man, so right. I wish you could attend some of my college classes and hear some of my fellow classmates read aloud....... it's scary man, really disturbing.
