The late Nirvana frontman's remains were taken from widow Courtney Love's Los Angeles home along with jewelry and clothing.

Kurt Cobain is certainly in high demand: After his likeness was snatched by Dr. Martens, utilized by Converse, and his effects auctioned via Christie's, an unidentified burglar has upped the ante - stealing the rocker's remains from widow Courtney Love's Los Angeles home.
According to an NME.com report (via News of the World), an unidentified robber entered Love's Hollywood home and snatched clothing, jewelry, and Cobain's ashes, which were kept in a "pink teddy bear-shaped bag along with a lock of his hair."
"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me," said Love. "I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."
Following Cobain's 1994 death, portions of his ashes were spread near his Washington State home and at a New York Buddhist temple. The remaining ashes' whereabouts were previously unknown by the public at large, and now, following the heist, are again lost to obscurity.
"They were all I had left of my husband," Love told the Brit paper. "I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again."

The sad thing is, the ashes are probably dumped by now. I mean, how in the hell do you fence something like that? It's like the Mona Lisa, but different, because you can't autheticate it.

Although, I have a suspicion maybe they're not really gone. I'm curious if Love had them insured? Lord knows she's not all there, maybe she just forgot them in the back of a taxi or something.

I think i read somewhere that Kurt specifically stated that in the event of his death he wanted a burial for his funeral, and not a cremation.
Cremation was entirely Courtney's idea and against the wishes of all of Kurt's relatives (and evidently that of himself), which prompts many to think that she indeed had something to hide, or something to do with his murder.
I really wouldn't be surprised if she actually did put a prize on his head, like it is claimed by some.

Yea. I've done a lot of acid so....it sorta comes with the territory. I dunno, I'm also from a superstitious Roman Catholic upbringing. And my boyfriends mom is a brazilian medium who gets inhabited by other entities and starts being another person. I understand why a lot of people don't believe and that's cool, but after all of my experiences it's hard not to.

I have always thought that myself. It really is so hard to know what happened for sure. This is a really interesting video from CourtTV where the private investigator that was hired by Love discussed the evidence that he gathered that makes him believe that Love arranged for him to be murdered. It is a really interesting video...

I'm the exact opposite. I have always hated her. A lot of people have always compared her to Yoko Ono and Nancy Spungen but I don't think that is a fair comparison...She is FAR WORSE than yoko or nancy!!! :mad:

And you are right JDub, there were some halfway decent Hole songs. You know why? Because allegedly Kurt Cobain wrote the music and lyrics for a majority of them. There is some evidence of this as demo tapes were uncovered of kurt singing and playing Hole songs long before the inception of Hole. So for people that say that they like Hole, there really is no reason not to. It was essentially a "cover band" playing Nirvana songs that were not good enough to make it to a Nirvana album...

And you are right about her. She is continuing to whore Kurt Cobain and his legacy out to make a little bit of quick cash. With his stance on capitalism and the commercialization of punk rock, I have to think that he would be enraged by the fact that he was tied commercially to Converse and Doc Martens. And I can't even imagine what he would think about the idea of her publishing his personal journals for the entire world to see...:mad:
