Anything stronger than opana or fent?

Just as the title says, once you get to this point of being on either fent or Opana, is there anything stronger or is that it? Do you just up the dosage after that?

for humans, on a milligram per milligram basis, Fentanyl is probably the strongest. Think about it Fentanyl is dosed by the MICROgram, not by the milligram. Oxymorphone (Opana) is not nearly as powerful as fentanyl, but is still one of the most powerful opiates used for analgesia in humans. Now there are analogues of Fentanyl that are more powerful....

and then there is an opioid called ETORPHINE. This is only used in veterinary medicine (to Immobilize elephants i think), but it is about 10-15 THOUSAND times as potent as morphine. It is fatal to humans, and I remember reading that a drop of of etorphine on the skin could cause death to a person (even if they are tolerant to most opioids). Pretty crazy shit, check it out if you want to. This is not a fentanyl analogue and actually is semi-synthetic. I think it is made from thebaine and oripavine, both found in poppies.

I suppose it could be, however opioids in veterinary medicine is kind of a gray area. I mean animals are a little different from humans and classic opiates are act on the CNS (Brain and Spinal cord). Morphine, the prototypical opiate, exerts a stimulant effect on the spinal cord, but a depressant effect in the brain. That is why in humans, if they receive a shot of morphine (or any other mu agonist) we are more or less "doped" or tranquil. However, if you were to give a frog morphine it would probably go into convulsions and spasm because: obviously a frog brain is different from ours, but mostly because it has more receptors in its spinal cord than brain and therefor the drug would cause a nasty stimulant effect.

Back to the veterinarian medicine, a drug called Butorphanol (Nasty stuff) is often used on animals, especially horses. Butorphanol, for those who don't know, is a kappa agonist, and a mu antagonist (with slight agonism). Kappa receptors are associated with the unwanted effects of opioids, and a direct kappa agonist will cause DYSPHORIA and hallucinations in humans. I know because I have tried this shit... but in horses, it not only works as an analgesic (to kill pain) it tranquilizes them to where they are very still ( as if paralyzed). Anyway, I just thought I would put it out there... I thought it was kind of interesting and maybe you all will too.

I've read etorphine is really only about 500x stronger than morphine not this 10000x figure. Maybe in humans the potency is different?

I guess different sources will give you different results, but from all of the sources I have read, it is fatal to humans in a matter of minutes even if absorbed through the skin in minuscule amounts...

I have personally found Methadone to be an extremely effective pain reliever. With such strong binding affinity for the mu receptors it's an excellent choice for people who need "something stronger" or who have been on large quanities of potent pain meds that are losing their effectiveness. Plus with it's long half life you can decrease the amount of b/t medications you will have to use. The key to reducing the tolerance to a particular med is to rotate meds every few months. This is a proven method used by PM doctors all the time.

Switched me to methadone... again, asked for 20mg a dose cause I was taking a HUGE amount of percs still, and all he said was "Everyone wants more narcotics..." and still the 10mg dose. Got me buzzin' but shit! Also... he called the pharmacist to see when my last oxy script was filled, May 29th... so I can't get ANYTHING (done or percs for bt) till June 29th SHIT! Sober still :(

Up side... my oxy script from Purdue was accepted, should be sending it out today. Gonna be A GREAT DAY when I finally get those. OxyC + Percs + done + kpins (next week) = Fucked up!! Sucks I gotta wait for it, tho...

Thanks nick, I'm gonna ration (yeah right :rolleyes:) and take the OC's w/ percs needed for bt. The done will be for when I run out, to keep w/d's at bay. And the kpins... well, I'm scripted 3 a day, so if I take one or two, I'll have a nice stock pile for when the opies run out.

Glad ur showing concern w/o sayin' something like: "That's stupid! Your gonna kill yourself!" Or something else makin' me feel like a real strung out junky/asshole.

Seriously though, with what you take daily, 10mg should be enough to hold you during you "down" times. I get by on 20mg a day, that's after taking anywhere between 8-10, maybe more sometimes, Roxicodone 30s a day. I prefer 30mgs but even with just 20mg per day I do not experience any w/d at all, not even the mental shit I have if I take Subs. I love 'done, seriously might be close to considering it my DOC.

you guys forgot about sufentanil... its close but 5-10 times stronger than fent. a friend of mine (who was an anesthesiologist) was the only person i know that has ever gotten their hands on it. he was of the "one for you, two for the doctor" mentality.

Yeah, I think I'm not heavy enough yet (good thing!) to have physical w/d's, the mental craving is HORRIBLE for me though, the thought of those little pills bein' crushed up and slidin' it around on a CD case, gettin' my straw ready... shit, gotta quit thinkin' about that for now! hehe...

I AM really happy that the small dose of 'done works for me though, I told my doc my tolerance is going up, but he hit the nail on the head, I just wanted MORE! I'll be glad to keep it as low as possible, I just wish I could get scripted more, like 3 a day, or even 2 percs a day for bt. Yep, I get 1 perc 5 a day, sad ain't it?

EDIT: OH!! And when I told him I'm hurting more since started working... he replied "Yeah, but you'd still be hurting sitting at home too." He's an ASS! But the only one I've found who'll prescribe ANYTHING over percs... shit, looks like I'm stuck for now.
