As spring/summer approaches, I've noticed that in the fall/winter my opiate use peaks. And I think theres two reasons for this...
1. The heat outside seems to diminish the euphoria/nod of my use
2. I've always loved the fall because its gray and cold and generally shitty outside, which I like. And gives me a reason to stay inside guilt free.
Anybody else notice seasonal changes to their opiate use? and people that live in Southern Cali, florida, and generally more temperate areas are you guys succeptable to those changes as well?
or im a weirdo wanna be goth kid?

Living in Pittsburgh I know that we generally have the same weather patters as Chi-town. Having said that I can say that yes I have had the same experiences. Although, and I was just talking to a friend about this, this winter has basically been non-exsistent. I dont know if the same can be said for Chicago but normally I get seasonally depressed in the winter months but not so much this year. It was 70 degrees and sunny three days last week and it has only snowed three or four times all winter which has been followed by a warm day which melts all of the snow anyway.
I'm starting to feel like a meteorologist so I'll stop now. But I can say that your not alone and this occurence is not designated to weirdo wanna be goth kids cause that is certainly something I am not. Not that theres antything wrong with that.

its been a pretty mild winter here too, but, maybe i should clarify: if the temp is lower than 50 and its cloudy as shit, thats cool. but the chicago summers tend to be fuckin brutal with a capital HOT.
So a couple summers ago, being generally opi-naive, I would go outside, throw on the baby oil/iodine solution and bake, just ingesting a couple pills to enjoy the afternoon. but, nothing happens in the heat, and i've heard from some friends that they feel the same way.
Theres nothing like nodding out on a pea-soup sunday afternoon in november

I dont know that I've noticed it not working in the heat, but I would say one thing that makes it better in the cold and lets you know its working more in the cold would be the fact that you cant feel the cold. Recently I've gotten worried that friends of mine, who are now clean, know that I'm high because we will be smoking cigarettes outside in thirty or fourty degree weather and I'll only be wearing a t-shirt. Not only that but I'll be saying things like "wow isnt it a nice night tonight?"
I dont know for me opiates have a superman effect...I become a lot more social which was a new thing for me when I started using. Now though I think I'm getting out of that because I've come to learn what I alread knew which was that most people arent worth my time anyway. So there is a part of me that agrees that nodding... well pretty much anywhere anytime is pretty fucking righteous.
