YEAH BUDDY,
WATCH WHAT YA SAY TO THE MAN WHEN HE GETS YOU IN HIS SIGHTS,NO DOUBTS ABOUT IT!
What i would like to ask and know is if anybody has learned anything from watching COPS all these years?
Stupid is stupid does no doubt!
but then again arrogance is the least quality desired from a person with a badge and a gun! don't you think?
like alot of peeps say when they ask for your license registration and insurance card, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have the business card of a decent criminal attorney in your wallet"lawyer up" yeah buddie...
c'mon peeps tell me stories.......

No real stories but remember...

Never talk to a cop. Give him your ID if he requests. If you're arrested tell him you would like to invoke your 1st amendment rights...

Never let a cop search your car. Tell them politely that you would rather they do not search your person/property. Being cocky and saying "Fuck off pig, your not looking through my shit" won't help. They'll just try to get you for disorderly conduct or some b.s.

While I was at work, my assistant head nurse came up to me and quietly told me "I need you to come down to the pharmacy with me". I KNEW why we were headed there. I had been stealing so many drugs for so long that I actually thought the hospital knew I was an addict but they valued me so much they would overlook my theft! We left the unit, and met up with a police officer discreetly positioned in the stairwell nearest my unit.
We went to a large conference room and the director of nurses, the director of pharmacy, the narcotics pharmacist, 2 police detectives and an investigator from the state board of nursing were all seated around a table . The lead detective had some videos and a bagged syringe in front of him.
The lead detective introduced himself & the others and said "You're not under arrest, but we would like to ask you some questions about your dispensing of narcotics. Before I ask you any questions, I will read you your rights". He proceeded to do so. Meanwhile, I was in total panic, the most frightened I have ever been in my life. I was so frightened I felt like I had left my body & was kind of a detatched observer at the same time that I was present in this scary room.
So I said, "I have the right to an attorney, right?" The detective replied yes, and I said,"well, I invoke my right to an attorney then". The police officer said OK, thank you for your time, have your attorney contact us. He gave me his card, and Janine & I left.
So I kept my mouth shut, and my attorney(I found one QUICKLY who specialized in nurse dope fiends) arranged for me to plead guilty to one second degree felony instead of the 34 counts they had me on (for three days worth of theft. Each pill, each syringe was a separate felony). She also handled all my professional licensing issues, so she was a bargain at 4000$.
In August of this year I get to apply for expungement, YAY!

Wow poppy! That would have scared the bejesus outta me! Glad (not that you got charged) that you lawyered up, and are going to get it expunged. This could have really turned out horribly!

I learned a shit-ton (technical, official term) from the show "The First 48". Not to mention I am obsessed with it, the half-wits who kill people always screw themselves in the "interview".

i must admit, i have been very lucky in this area, there have been several times i have evaded charges big and small.

One thing i got going for me, at least back when.... is that i do not look like a heavy user. as of recent, the fashions have changed (due to the absence of an office job, well any job, and being dragged through the rubble from being a functioning user to a struggling addict) and i also got a smooth tong. Its always a powerplay when it comes to police, and as long as they feel in charge and you have the helpless thing going (i.e. victim like) it can work to your advantage. naturally im aware of my situtation (im holding, im high, and ive been pulled over - for example).... I know i was smart enough ahead of time not to keep my stash in the open, or in a obvious spot, nor my rigs... so its a matter of being calm and composed. I like to think if it like forgetting that i am doing anything wrong. hahaha.... ive seen so many people get wigged out and anxious. when in reality, they cop only knows at the time that its a routine stop. and the rest it to be judged upon further inspection. I dont want to give him a reason to suspect.

so, i have found to just keep my mood serene, to literaly forget im doing anything illegal, and be respectful without kissing too much ass.
