Got ahold of some roxis today. They look to be a lighter green than last months batch that I got. They were a little harder to break down too. The smell ;) and the drip tasted differently than what I've known for the past year or so. What's up with these?
I only had one leftover roxi from the last batch, and it was definitely a shade or two darker green and broke down perfectly with 3 rubs of a card on it. The new ones took me cutting them up with a razor and using 5 or 6 rubs.
They are also stopping production on them, right? All roxis? Or just a few brands? :(

I've heard people over in here voicing your same concerns. I had the same question about which companies are halting production.
Anybody with some knowledge on these things.

I got some light green soft ones yesterday in SF. Dunno...

I dont know where this rumor started about Roxi's being pulled from the market, but I, and many others, have found no evidence that ANY of the brands are being pulled.
I have not checked the brand name site, so it may be possible that brand name Roxi s are getting the axe, but I went back 2 years on the Actavis/Amide website, and none of their news clips had anything about oxycodone, let alone that they are stopping production.
Qualitest recently got into the generic Roxi game just a few months ago, and Ethex has added new strengths, including a 10mg and 20mg Roxi-type oxycodone product.
If Roxis were being pulled, these companies would not be putting new versions on the market.
Rest assured, Roxi's are not going anywhere.

I hope they don't get pulled. Roxi 30mg are my DOC. I get 120 of them a month and I love them. My pharmacist is having a hard time getting them though. Both the ethex and actavis brand. He just ordered a buttload of ethex for me though, so I should be OK for a while.

I still see the blue roxi 30's around my way (if those are the ones you're talking about.) Then again, I still see Oxy 80's that have been discontinued. *shrug*

wafflehead is right. There is no legit confirmed shortage of Oxycodone IR. Both the FDA and the ASHP (American Society of Health System Pharmacists) websites list current and resolved drug shortages because they have to be reported. Neither place has a shortage listed for Oxycodone IR.
Now regarding Actavis/Amide. I have checked their press releases and new clips daily and back almost a year and there is nothing saying they are discontinuing their generic version of Roxicodone tablets. The only thing that might remotely lead someone to believe that they are no longer making them is that neither Oxycodone 15mg & 30mg tablets are listed in their product list. But that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Also Qualitest is now distributing their generic version of Roxicodone 15mg and 30mg tablets. So even if Actavis/Amide did stop making them there would still be several companies still producing and distributing them; Mallinckrodt, Qualitest, Ethex, Xanodyne (Brand).
I just posted in another thread that my husband got his RX just a day or two ago and the pharmacy had the Actavis/Amide brand (this is the brand they have carried since we first got the RX'd over a year ago). They had enough tablets to fill the script and the price was the same as it always was. If we didn't have insurance the cash price would be $125 for 100 tablets.
The likely scenario for the OP is the pharmacy he /she uses switched brands since last month. It sounds like the OP usually got the darker green A 214s made by Actavis/Amide but this time he/she got the lighter green slightly fatter tablets made by Mallinckrodt.
Now considering all of the above, including the fact that Qualitest just started to supply their generic version, there is no chance in hell that they are discontinuing all 5 generic Roxicodone products. BTW who is "they"? All 5 generic product companies? The government?

I'm just going by what I've read in a few other threads, regarding the shortages of certain Roxi brands. That's why I was ASKING.
And no, I've always received the Actavis brand, and yeah, they are still the Actavis brand. Pretty easy to see that they have the exact same markings on them as they've had in the past. So my question still stands.

Hey, there is no need to get an attitude about the answers you were given. Your post didn't say anything about them having the same markings, all you said is they were lighter green. My response was a legitimate one. You were asking about shortages and wafflehead and I both respectfully answered your question. I could have said use the search function to find the answer since the same information was posted in the other threads. I think everyone has been more than helpful trying to answer your questions.
Have they been reformulated? If so there is NO info about that anywhere I looked, including the Actavis website which doesn't even list them as one of their products.

I don't see why you're getting so offended from my reply. The thread title says that they are the Actavis brand so that should have let you know that I can tell the difference between brands. Thank you for your reply, but your post was a little condescending, and the only reason I brought up the roxi shortage/discontinuing was because of other posters lettings us know about the certain brand shortages and something about possibly being discontinued. Next time I just won't ask then if it's that dumb of a question.

No offense to you, but alot of people will claim they have one brand, and actually have another. When someone states a characteristic of a tablet that does not match with a certain brand, it is often assumed that the poster is incorrect.
In your case, since the tablet is lighter green, I would say the most likely scenario is they are older, and they were perhaps exposed to excessive light, which could cause discoloring. Im not sure why they are harder though. Maybe they were stored in a bathroom med cabinet, and the humidity from the shower screwed with the density of the tab? Usually this causes the tabs to be more brittle upon drying, but you never know.
It is possible that there was an error with a batch of the Actavis product, or that they recently changed their formulation, but as Roxi stated, there is no information to back this up.

I'm not offended by your reply, I thought it was inconsiderate. It's not a dumb question either, but the shortage question has been answered on a number of occasions. In my reply, I gave all the information that I had on the shortage rumor, even with back-up sources (links) so that anyone looking for the information can see that the reply is correct and that can be confirmed. This way we won't have to answer the question again and again, because that does happen here. If you found my reply condescending, it's only because you took it that way, since it's obvious that you are bothered by the fact that I suggested that the OP (you) might have recieved another brand. It was a legit response and not meant to offend you. No one was insinuating that you didn't know the difference between brands. Could reformulated products have different imprints, undoubtingly the answer is yes. You never said that the tablets you got last months and the tablets you got this month had the same imprint, just that they were much lighter green. My answer makes sense, I didn't say it with the any other intention. I'm not going to continue to discussion any further since this isn't the purpose of this thread or of this site.
