When chloroform is mixed with a crude morphine salt the plant materials mix in with the chloroform layer. However there is a middle, reddish layer as well and and upper yellow layer. Was curious if the reddish layer contains morphine as well or should be thrown away? Also the top layers still smell of chloroform was wondering if this is safe to consume after drying out?
