There are already a loose set of threads with many of us reasoning our methods for making the "gelling" pills readily ingestible. HERE THOUGH, I intend to clarify these methods and provide insight on the succesful experiments I've had with - the soon to be obsolete - Impax, Tevas, and Endo's. Since they are being discontinued soon, I hope the surplus can be of use to my fellow IV users.
IMPAX/TEVA - There are a few different methods, some more efficient than others, but this method I feel is closest to everyone's existing routines for shooting. You need a spoon, a pill, a lighter, water, and your favorite clean needle. Other's find use for beakers, bunsen burners, mortar and pestle, but this seems simplest.
The idea is to cook the dry powder. take your pill, and crush it into the spoon. Don't worry about grating it, just crush it thoroughly, as the idea is to get it done quickly with the least moisture exposure. Spread the powder evenly around the spoon, not just a lump of powder, so that the burn is more even. You're looking to crisp it til some of the powder is noticibly darkened. *This is where you have to be careful, and not to burn it too much. The Idea is to crisp it. Now, when you add water, it won't immediately gel, and will resemble wet Brand OC's, a white mixture as opposed to a clear gel mixture you would get without crisping the pill first. Cook it again to a rolling boil and there will be a wax clump forming and the water will clear up.
I HOPE THIS HELPS AND CLEARS UP ANY QUESTIONS. YOUR IMPAX/TEVA's AREN'T USELESS.
When you shoot, use a fresh piece of cotton for every Pull. Because the cotton will be coated in gel after the first shot, it's good to add more water to the spoon and get a second shot. Heat it again
, new cotton, then pull.
NOTE: Use as much water as you can, a hundred units, when you add the first bit of water to the crisped, brownish, powder. I Imagine cooking the powder too much would destroy some of the compund
