Has anybody been scripted this medicine Rozerem [ramalteon] for insomnia, I have been taking it for a few days now with breaks between using Seroquel, Risperdal, Trazadone, or a high dose mix of Ambien, benzos, and alcohol for getting me to dreamland. Benzos never put me to sleep nor does Ambien, Sonata, Ambien CR, or Lunesta but those drugs do hold promise for me in control of anxiety.
If so how did it work for you? Did it work for a long term or was tolerance developed? So far it has been knocking me out with in 30 mins of taking it. I am just wondering if this is going to last? I always am on a cycled schedule of my sleep meds because I dont like taking one for too long because I start to get habituated or my tolerence increases.
Rozeram [ramlateon] is different than most sleep aids as it doesnt act upon the GABA receptors it acts on the Melatonin receptors. I have NEVER had luck using Melatonin itself for sleep, except for maybe an increase in dreams but this little pills packs a punch and is not habit forming [so they say, ha] or have the risks involved with taking anti-p's. Hopefully it will continue working well for me I guess I'll find out. I have horrible insomnia couple that with a small amp habit and it can be down right a bitch to sleep unless I cold knock my self unconscious with a strong dose of Seroquel but it gets lame sleeping for 14 hrs and waking up at 6pm all the time.
Interested though if anybody else has any comments on this medicine as its relatively new [in the US at least] and just wondering about tolerance or other issues. Anybody?
I take 8mg's
