Editing posts

Why can't we edit our posts after a certain period of time? It would be nice if we could always have that option.

Sorry---you've got an hour after posting to change your mind. So it's best to think before you post 'cause once it's there, it's there forever. Only mods and admins can change/delete it from that point on, and it's against general policy to do so. Only in extreme cases will we do that.

If you allowed us to edit ourselves there would be zero requests on you guys. Just saying. Only reason I can think of is fuckin up the continuity of a thread/ the board.

Oh agreed. I'm not complaining or asking for editing permission, just saying that if we could do it ourselves the mods wouldn't get ANY requests. Theoretically speaking.

Well, don't forget, we are Big Brother and we wanna watch and monitor everything you say or do. If we allowed you to delete posts, you'd find some sneaky way way of soliciting, then deleting your solicitation, now wouldn't you?

If I had my way, I'd require every member to have a webcam on and activated while they are here so we can watch your every move. You are all devious fuckers and of course I'm only joking. Actually, I think the logistics would mean a re-structure of the entire posting system. Could be wrong, though---I'm not that computer savvy.

BTW: I'm in the midst of another relapse. This one only 3 days after the last. WTF is wrong with me? But damn is this shit good---I'm only 2 rails in and already nod-o-rama. Don't hate me.

no can do. people would go through and delete all their threads and fuck the board all up. at least if a member asks they can hear a no - letting them go back through their messages and delete whatever, change shit, edit, etc - bad idea.
