for those of you who don't know, reiki is some kinda eastern energy therapy mediciny something-or-other. i don't really know.

but my girlfriend is into it. the first time she told me about it (which wasn't for a while, because she knew better) i was like , what have i gotten myself into with this chick?

for the longest time i wouldn't let her touch me with that shit. "oh, no thanks honey, the headache is really not that bad, in fact, it's almost gone!" translation: whatever, woman. i got your eastern therapy right here:cool:.

finally, i had a migraine and she did it without telling me. and the shit does something. i could tell. anyway, i was thinking last night about some of the opis in wds right now. the gf says the reiki can be used for anything-that it "goes where it's needed." so, it could in theory be used for wds.

anybody ever heard of it being used for that sort of thing? or willing to try it? by the good will of the universe, i'm not in a position to try it right now.

I know that acupuncture does a lot of good, so I can see how Reiki would help also. Never tried Reiki myself though.

One of my sisters is a Wiccan and she uses stones and different things for healing. She also does reiki. I would try it if I were in your shoes for W/D. I almost lost my second child to a miscarriage. I was told I had about a 35% chance of carrying to term. She did the reiki stuff on me and I had an awesome rest of pregnancy. I also am crippled by migraines and it helps that too. I have never tried it for W/D but if it can help with some of the other stuff, I don't see why not.

At the very least, it would relax you and bring some peace maybe rest for a while. Let me know how it goes if you do it during W/D.

Not really, but the last time I was really sick my so gave me a reiki massage and I must admit that it did relax me.My so is not a trained masseur,so I'd like to try a reiki with a pro next time I'm sick.

A lot of long term addicts swear by it.

I had it done to me 2 days into wd's and I don't know if it was done right or not, but I was still sick. It was relaxing, no doubt, but don't expect it to do wonders. Best remedy for w/d = suboxone. Good question tho.
