View Full Version : Better breakthrough med other than Oxy IR 30mg?

Right now, I am scripted 90/ 30mg Oxy IR's each month. Is there anything better to get? My tolerance is getting pretty high and these aren't working as good as they used to. I'm also scripted 15/100mcg/h Fentanyl patches. So, what else is there for the breakthrough meds? BTW, my ROA is anything but IV.

Well, my insurance won't cover Fentora, so maybe I'll see if I can switch to Opana. How easily is this stuff abused? Note that it will be the Opana IR and not the Opana ER. My insurance won't cover the ER either. So, can I snort it? Other than IV, what is the best ROA for it?

Hell,you can shoot the IR opana.So,of course you can snort it.

Re Morphine.M is weaker than oxy,but it's a good thing to change opiates every so often.So,it's worth considering.

Any idea on how it compares to oxy? How strong is it in comparison? Any info you have on it is appreciated. I will be going to my Dr. tomorrow or the next day to try to change to it.

It's oxymorphone.So,it's stronger than hydromorphone(D) and stronger than oxy.Checkout the opiate converstion table,that's stickied here.

Red dragon,I believe,snorts opana and is probably your best bet for subjective experience.

Be extremely thankful for what you get and leave it alone is my take. Anything you take is not going to work near as well if you abuse it... its something we all suffer with. Try a taper; DXM has helped me. Anywhere you go from here is simply going to raise your tolerance through the roof and then you won't be able to get high to save your damn life.

Nick is right. Doctor's should alternate pain meds to prevent tolerance to one specific drug, especially B/T meds. Maybe if the OP tried to swallow or plug the roxicodone rather than snort it he might get better pain relief. IME snorting oxy is a great way to get high but a terrible ROA if you want pain relief. The absorption is less when taken nasally and the length of action is significantly shortened.
