Hey opios. Sorry for the blunt title\disturbing thread but I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this..

As of the past couple of months my oxy habit has gotten pretty bad. I've been getting it under control the past few weeks...When it really picked up using the restroom (#2) was a major task I usually would put off. I remembered reading somewhere on here awhile back about using a finger to assist in getting the horrendously stiff\compact\huge feces out of my bum hole. It has helped alot...

However...I have about a month ago I noticed more blood than usual. Running down my hand\finger. At first it was a semi alarming amount but I didn't think much of it, but the past couple of times there has been alot more blood...When wiping the toilet paper gets pretty much covered\soaked..

Past few days I've been having thigh\lower back aches (not sure if its related, whatever).

I know internal hemeroids might cause stuff like this? Has anyone had a problem like this? Did you see a doctor? Any suggestions\advice?

If its bright red, its more than likely coming from hemroids or a tear in the lining of your anus. Nothing to worry too much about, as long as it stops fairly quick once you clean up. You might want to take a stool softener and try and get yourself a bit more regular. I know, easier said than done. Also, prepH is your friend. Tucks pads aren't too bad either. glycerin supposatories, fleet enemas, and miralax are your friends... seriously.... take miralax for 3 days, then when ready, dose up to help with the pain - insert supposatories, waiting 30 min... try shitting, if failure, use the enema..., let things soak then try.. also drink a ton more water...

and get screened for colon cancer - if you can, ask your wife or something (as sick as it is) to see if it's a hemmeroid or an anal fizzure/tear - or get a mirror and look but its not easy to see.. keep in mind, the tear may be inside the rectum if you've been using your fingers (don't be embarrassed, it happens)

also, when you insert a suppostory, push it up as far as you can... use 2 if you have too... (I have)..

or just quit junk for 4 days and your colon will dump water into the impaction...hense, ass piss.

now if your ass is just bleeding out, go to a fucking ER asap.

If it turns out to be nothing I suggest buying a large hypo without a needle on it and squirting water up ur bum when you are shitting bricks. That's what I do. I use a printer INK syringe and it helps break things up more gently. Also, buy a rubber bag enema thingy. It's like a LOT of water, that also helps me when I haven't gone in days. I hate getting constipated but i always am from subs. It makes ur stomach bulge too, thats the worst. And you absorb all those toxins sitting there. good luck and I hope it's not too serious!

BUT>>>>>I work in a cancer hospital and there are plenty of people in their 20's with colon cancer. I ditto Nate, I think you should get it checked.:(

Bleeding out your ass is one of the universal signs to see a doctor. Just like bleeding from the ears or sudden blindness. It could be constipation or it could be cancer or a perforated bowel. All of these things are something that you should get looked at, especially with the accompanying pains. Better safe and slightly embarrassed than dying in agony for no reason.

MOST LIKELY it is not colon cancer, but it could be (young doesn't matter) so that is why you need to take it seriously. They may be able to tell pretty quickly if it is an internal tear that is bleeding.

No need to talk about drug habit. Just say you know you're not getting enough fiber, don't drink much water, and you found yourself constipated.

Please keep us posted. It is PROBABLY not anything serious but none of us can tell you that, and with the associated pain you have, this is one of those times you have to bite the bullet and go.

If you have a doctor, go there. Next best is urgent care; most expensive is ER. If you don't have a "family doctor" then walk into an urgent care and tell them you are bleeding from your rectum and they won't make you wait around forever.

Better to be safe then sorry, its probably not life threatening but you wont know until you get it checked! Sooner rather then later is your safest bet also! I hope you can make it to a doc or er today.

I hate your medical system, you shouldn\t have to determine if you need to go to the er because if it really is nothing your paying out the ass (we aren't doctors who can self diagnose). Which means people wont go cause it may just be nothing and not worth the exspence and waiting time to go to a doc...where as I would just go, because I dont have to pay. So even if it was nothing, at least I know I am safe, cause it is better to be safe then sorry, but if you dont have the cash, your stuck between a rock and a hard place....

This sucks...I can imagine lots of poor families putting off going to the doc just because it isnt that bad yet because they cant afford to get something checked, in those just incase moments. Then when it gets bad and they know they gotta shell out the cash to get it checked, it could be too late, but it WAS something easily treatable at the time. But now since it wasn't checked cause it wasn't that bad until just recently, now turns into something life-threatening....that isnt fair!

I really don't think it cancer, but i am not a doctor.
I would look with a mirror, and check it out down there...before you totally freak out.
A good friend of mine has this happen to him frequently...he doesn't shit for like weeks, close to a month and its PAINFUL and messy when he finally DOES.

I guess if it get worse, or MORE blood each time...i would call the dr.

Having IBD I know all about shitting blood, and if it is bright red only when you shit, then you should be okay, ie. hemorroid or tear cause of straining. If it is darker blood or you feel it 'leaking' when not having a bm, that could mean serious problems (IBD, like Crohn's/UC or even the big, horrible -C-).

Be prepared to shit @ the ER/doc's office, cause if you don't give a sample, they'll pull on some gloves, and let me tell you, having ANYONE (especially a hot nurse) put there finger up your bum is painful, humiliating, and in the case of the nurse quite exciting (<--- That was a JOKE!! I am not into that shit!).

Sorry, side tracked, if you decide not to go in and have it checked yet, then yeah hold off on using for a few days, and get some stool softener, definitely helps those fuckin' bricks being pushed out.

As I said, I am not a health prof., but my cp and whole problems are caused by inflammation in the bowels, so I used to shit blood daily, usually starts off small, but by the time I've gone 6 or 7 times it almost always looks like nothing but blood.

Be safe though, go get checked out. If it's nothing, it's nothing. If it IS IBD/IBS/Cancer, then the earlier you catch it, the better.

It is bright red, fresh looking. Only when I'm using the restroom. When I'm done nothing seeps out after wards or old looking blood the next time I go..There doesn't seem to be blood in it, I know there usually is a small amount thats fresh, always has been that way for me when using..Blood doesn't seem to squirt out either. Heh.

I do have external hemroids, had them even before I was using. I sit too much I suppose...

I haven't seen a doctor as it hasn't gotten worse, pains aren't a problem anymore and they weren't unbearable...If it proceeds to get worse I definitely will be going to the doc asap...

Funny thing though, the past couple of days I wasn't using as much and popped some dexamp pills that I came across...Managed to go to the restroom and not suffer. No blood, stool was soft.. :rolleyes:

You need to act quickly and either:

1-stop using opiates, or

2-make yourself eat/drink high-fiber, drink 1-2 tsp mineral oil every evening, use suppositories morning & evening while you are using.

If you try to ignore this problem, you may end-up needing a colostomy. Your "O" ring can only take so much abuse.

Once you incorporate a high-fiber regimen into your routine, you will learn how much of the other items you will need--like mineral oil, greasy suppositories, etc..., and find a balance.

Dark red blood (tarry) = middle--upper GI bleed. This would be scary, need to see a doctor.

Granted my bathroom troubles were bad, but looking back it was a lot more tolerable...I wish I could stop easily, I'm going to figure out a plan for suboxone (again) and some sort of therapy sometime soon...

In a perfect world, every type of opiate would be available OTC, and sold with a dose of high-fiber, and some mineral oil.

There's nothing bad about people who have colostomies, its just that if you can avoid having to have the surgery, it would be preferable!

I cannot image how horrible it would be to pass that many bloody stools in 1 days!

I had a bad reaction to a fucking COX-2 inhibitor my fucked-up physician prescribed to me, this crappy medicine had me shitting blood (about 3 times a day). I stopped taking it after the first day of shitting blood.

I knew this was not a lower-GI bleed, because it was not bright red, but dark--not yet tarry.

COX-2 Inhibitors like VIOX, CELEBREX have a really bad track record for strokes, heart attacks, GI bleeds, etc.... If you are taking them, or a family member, or a friend, consider switching to ibuprofen or aspirin.

I had a parent die from a stroke two weeks after starting a COX-2 Inhibitor therapy. Maybe a coincidence, but considering that stroke is an established potential side-effect, I'm convinced that drug was responsible.
