Has the Oxycontin 80mg formula changed recently?

Hello all!

I started my day of as usual today by fixing up a shot for my wife and myself. I had gotten a new batch of Oxycontin 80mgs last night and this was the first time dosing from them. These 80s I got will harden into a solution that isn't shootable, it's very thick. As soon as you apply heat to the cooker again, it turns back into a perfectly clear liquid solution. Let it cool back down for even just one minute and it's back into a hard unshootable substance. I decided to heat it up and shoot it while it was hot (I know, probably very stupid.) and it's got oxycodone in it for sure, same usual rush.

Has the formula changed recently? I'm very scared and worried that I shouldn't have shot this and that my loved DOC might be going south. Thanks everyone! If this is common knowledge, I'm sorry for spamming the board.

Another thing to add, after drawing up into the rig while the solution is hot. If you leave the rig for one to two minutes, it will harden up in the rig!!! The worst part about this is you cant get it back out of the rig to save it. Unless you can heat up your rig enough to turn it back into liquid without melting the plastic of the rig.

These are name brand OCs. I'm in San Francisco.

I'm really really worried about this. I don't know what to do. I just purchased 60 of these things and I don't have a lot of money. That was just about every last dime I have and the part I'm worried about most is doing a lot of damage to my body. I shot it anyways, by heating it up and shooting it before it had a chance to cool down, but I'm really scared that I'm going to hurt myself doing that.

I know they are working on a new formulation, but I think it will be a while before it hits the market. They don't look "off" though, as if they were made in someone's basement?

If you have access to a wheel filter, I would try running it through while hot. Let it cool, and see if it still hardens.

Yes, I do have a wheel filter. I'll give that a try. The 80s do not look off at all, they look perfect. They would be some extremely talented counterfeiters because they still got me high. I'll take a picture next time I fix.

Thats wild man. Im in frisco, i got some 80's recently from the TL, not as many as you, but a good amount.... and had no problems, saw no difference. And they look the same, thats wild! Well, i would really like to see a pic, if you can take one.

Plug them. When I Iv'ed OC's it was such a let down. I think the needle fixation is just a big thing for a lot of people. When I plug OC's the effect is a fair deal stronger than eating or snorting. Just my opinion.

Martinyes they added an adulterant o0f some sort that "gells" it up. DO NOT COOK. COLD ONLY . I could just imagine the first week er 2 when they put these out and dopers were snortin em with cottage cheese coming outta one nostril! HA!

Lok up an old thread on this. I remember when they started doing this to them but cant seem to remember what company it is inparticular that started the shite. Start searchin kids , the threads are there.

What do you mean 'as far as you know?' What do they look like? I think it's pretty straight forward whether or not you have the name brand ones unless you are getting them on the street and they come from some clandestine lab.

some do, some dont. The last few I've gotten havent but I know for a fact that they're out there so be careful. From what I can recollect of the older threads on this one is that cold cookin is the only way and even that can be a bitch at times.

the new formulation of oxycontin has not been put out yet. it still has to be fda approved for use. predue pharma has to do more "testing" according to the fda. so nothing has changed as of yet with a new formula being put out there. now they can alter it i beleive and make it anyway they want it cause they own the patent to it.

and like said dont be suprised if the good old oxys start dissappearing cause gen rx is getting huge. they are starting to talk about gen rx more than fucking meth abuse now days. like many people say , savor the "good ole days" cause shits going to change like it always does. good luck in finding why they do that, its prob hush hush, oxy now has a black box cause i just read the perscribing info. i dont know if it had one before or not.

Martin hi martin i just came from my local drugstore to pick up my oxy's and the pharmacist told me that purdue stopped making the generic oxy's, as far as i know my oxy's are the same but they are brand name

and the fda didn't start to even debate it till the 5th where they had that meeting with predue and the whole rest of the public. there was people there form oxy haters to people who have lost people due to opiates and oxy advocates. they were told by the fda to do more testing is what i hear.

and a black box is a warning at the top of the rx info phamphlet. it has all the warnings in it. a few years ago they made the ssris get it. now advair has it from what i hear too cause it has caused deaths .

A side note on the debate they had regarding the new formula, the panel decided against approving the new type of oxy as you mentioned. More than the concern about the true strength of doses, and true abuse potential I think that they were more upset that Purdue was willing to reformulate all the pills except the 60 and 80mg ones. lol.

If Purdue truly wanted to lower the abuse, they would have included the 60 and 80's with their proposal. The FDA does not have to go off of their recommendation, but they almost always do. From what I read on the articles, even when it is approved it'll take 3 year to be on the market. Sure the FDA will fast track it, but I would think it would still take a year before it's at the pharmacies for sale. On a side note i just read the FDA just approved palladone to be released again the US. The FDA is making it hard for people to have fun with oxys, so Purdue is just getting ready ahead of time and giving us palladone!
