many vendors are selling THP (tetrahydropalmatine) as a painkiller and relaxant. It's fron Corydalis yanhusuo herb. Has anyone done any experiments with that?

yes, and in my research I have found that the 5x extract of corydalis is more enjoyable than the THP isolate, there are many other alkaloids in corydalis besides THP, and for me, I like the blend better than the potent THP isolate.
not that THP is no good, it is quite good, but compared to the corydalis 5x I would rather have the latter....as it contains THP and other compounds.
if you like corydalis, try researching sophora subprostata. this herb contains matrine, which is a kappa/mu agonist opioid. matrine is an abundant alkaloid in sophora, I think 5 grams of the 5x extract contains about 400-600 milligrams of matrine.
matrine can be sourced as a pure compound.
the kappa opioid activity seems predominant, along with pleasant somniferic effects.
Ill take both together, but if it was a choice between the two Ill take sophora/matrine as they are opioids, I think THP is a dopamine antagonist/agonist.........

How would you compare hat matrine to pods...? Does it hold you fro morphine Wd's?
I don't mean, that it have to be that strong to be interesting, but still like to know...

with several of these plants I am researching there is a purported mixed agonist effect, with picralima nitida, sophora subprostata, and chaste tree, I think all have a slight mu opioid activity, and stronger kappa agonist activity.
picralima nitida did not seem to cover withdrawls, but that was consuming only 10-20 grams of the raw seed product...
I havnt tried the others under similiar conditions.
I am looking at these plants more as potentiators or as aids for withdrawl, not really as replacement therapy type of substances such as kratom.
sophora seems to be more of a sedative......
one chemist described picralima nitida alkaloids as being somewhat similiar of a stimulant as ibogaine.....I noticed a definite stimulant edge with the picralima.
chaste tree is a good stimulant, and besides the opioid agonist activity there is also reported a dopamine type stimulation. perhaps this is seperate from the opioid activity, or perhaps it is a "byproduct" of opioid agonist activity?

more as potentiators Ok, thanks.
