So unfortunately this doesnt have to do with opiates. Ive been regularly prescribed flexiril 5mg. now these usually come in handy during sobriety, everyonce in awhile ill pop em with some opiates but not always. But today i got prescribed 800mg of Skelaxin. Now the 5mg made me pretty relaxed and numb. maby im just a light weight but 5mg-800 mg? That seems insane to me. Im a bitch when it comes to new drugs, anyone tried these? If not oh well ill end up popping it within the next couple of hours.

Skelaxin and flexiril are completely different substances...

So the dose is based on the invidual drugs active level. So this doesn't mean that the skelakin is going to be 150 times stronger just because it is a higher dose then the flexiril, that is just the dose that is needed for skelaxin to work/be active.

Dont expect to feel much of anything off of metaxalone (Skelaxin). It is pretty mild, and for me, didnt do a goddamn thing. Although I have never had a muscle relaxer do anything but put me to sleep anyway, but these wont even do that.

Yep, like stated above.....different substances, different dosages for same effects. That is not the highest dose given, dont worry , you are not taking the equivalent to 400 flexaril, as it may have seemed.

flexaril always got me a little relaxed and sleepy. but skelaxin never did a thing for me, even at large doses

Flexaril makes me relaxed and sleepy too and I like it as a muscle relaxer. Skelaxin didn't so shit and are worthless in my book too

skelaxin has no recreational value...and may produce some bad side effects if you try taking more than prescribed

yep, a low-income clinic doc put me on Skelaxin, didn't do shit, tossed it away after a week. Still trying to get some Soma, but that's an argument for another day. :)
