First off I wanted to say no I'm not looking for a connection.

That being said I am going on a trip to Portland for a while and was wondering if they have any kind of open air market?

So far the only advice I have is to look around old china town, anyone know if this is reliable information?

If anybody knows a general location (ie downtown, china town) that the junkies hangout that would be helpful.

Also how is the quality generally?

I'm not avid user of h only because it isn't very common in Idaho, it can be found on occasion but pharms are way more plentiful, yet some good dope will be cheaper and serve just as well...

I can't think of anything more pleasant then getting blitzed and walking down Alameda Elliott Smith style. :]

There is boatloads of H in Portland. There isn't much of a street scene though. The china town scene you mention consists of mostly crack, not smack.

Best bet would be far east Portland off of the MAX line. That's still not a good bet though. Socializing in front of a methadone clinic would by far and above be your best bet. I'm sure you know how to make money talk.....

Tons of dope there - old town is a district and not very specific. Find a needle exchange in Old Town - same game in every city. Fuck the clinics, ask the bums (chat 'em up a bit, give 'em some change) and find the needle exchanges..

Oh yeah, awesome city, I love it there I just hate the weather. You can get anywhere on a bicycle there..

yea its plentiful there, its tar, and of varying quality. dont know much about where to get it, but the advice given sounds good, as it would be in any city. ive had it a few times when i lived in seattle, someone i knew went to portland all the time and would come back with dope always.

Been about five years since I've been in Portland so the scene may have changed a bit. I had a really easy time just chatting up the hoards of gutter punks that hang out downtown. They all have habits themselves. H is huge there.

I wish I could help more, but I wouldn't know about H...I think I'll ride my pill tolerance into the ground first.

Anyway, there's Portland Saturday Market....it's an open air market type thing with tons of people hocking various shit...I used to go there in the summer when I was a teenager and score weed and shrooms.

I'd be willing to be there's somebody looking to sell around there.

It's easy to score in Portland. Several places to go with the main spot being at Skidmore Fountain on weekdays. I've literally seen lines of people down there buying crack, smack, etc. It's under the bridge. Same place as Portland Saturday Market, but I've never seen any dope dealing going on there on Saturday or Sunday (the market is two days now.)

Burnside from about 5th on up to the bridge is good on a certain obvious side of the street.

Chinatown is always a dangerous area. Junkies like to shoot up in the Greyhound bus station bathroom, which is nearby.

bi1 is right on its all in that area but the portland light rail thing has a stop right near there under the bridge and theres usually a number of mexicans in the general area. west coast open airs are so diferent than east coast. in the west coast its all mexicans and they usually hang out in crowded areas in the downtowns of the cities and dress pretty non-descript and work alone so you usually cant tell the diffference between a dealer and a construction worker. If you got that look and seeing has how your a punk rocker you definantly do theyll either give you a nod or go up an ask em the magic word is chiva.

yeah luckilly ive never had to cop on teh streets ive always had a solid connect.

there are plenty of homeless that would probably be able to point you in the right direction.

i work in an establishment and i freqently run across needles (uncapped D:< ) in the trash. generally after homeless people use the bathroom for more than 15 minutes. im a junky too so i cant really judge but i wish they would at least cap their shit before throwing it away, i dont want to end up getting pricked when i change the trash.

but there are plenty of junky homeless around. you may want to scope out around the m'done clinics. but im not sure how safe that is.

the portland dope scene is really interesting because as far as ive been able to tell mexicans run the game. if you have a friend or know someone who can get it straight from them you can score some really nice stuff (for this area at least) the tar i get is always in powder and in phatty balloons. yum.

although there are a lot of people who love to cut the shit with sugar :(

I live in Gresham....couple miles from Rockwood, where I've heard theres a ton of heroin, but I've never seen anything...not that I would know.

...I hate Rockwood with a fucking passion anyway, too many dirty motherfuckers of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Ghetto.

Have seen a couple of what I'm pretty sure were heroin sales down by Gateway...where, coincidently, I did my good deed for the day a few weeks back:

I saw this poor chick rocking back and forth on the bench by the MAX with her BF or whatever, I was walking by, and said "What's wrong?". She said (in the most feeble voice ever), "Dopesick from Oxy".

Having just walked over from a nearby pharmacy and having just picked up my script, I knew what I had to do. I reached into my pocket and gave her a handful of vic 7.5-500's (probably 15-20 of them), and went on my way.

You should have seen the look on their faces, it was absolutely classic :)
