Hello everyone, I thought I would pass along a program I am going to start beginning in May. For those who are low income or unemployed can use this program that is provided by purdue to reduce their cost of any MG Oxycontin and only 5 mg oxycodone ir for a cost of only $25 per prescription. Their phone number is 1-800-599-6070. I figure if your doctor wants to prescribe you 6 5mg ir, or 3 40's a day it would still be covered under the program as long as they prescribe it. The $25 payment covers you for a 30 day supply.

The only draw back to the program is that the doctor has to sign you up for the program, and it is done through the mail. This means that you would have to see your doctor 5 days or so before you would run out so that you aren't without any medication. I thought I would share this information with everyone, it's a great resource to anyone who is in financial trouble. This is purdue giving back to the community, and you are also assured that you will always be getting the brand name medication. Try it out people, nothing to lose!

Sadly, that's still a huge price per month for me. Having to see the doc every month plus the $25 copay.

I'm gonna take in the duragesic assistance information, 3 month supply free!

You can also check out rxassist.org for a database of all the prescription assistance programs.

Not to sound like a jerk, but how is the $25 for a month of OC too much? In your previous post you stated that you were going to pay $130 a month for the morphine or oxy ir. The program purdue has is less than $1 a day. Your doctor already prescribes your OC, which you paid a more than $25 I'm sure. I'm just trying to understand the logic, especially since your doctor said there is nothing equipvelent to what you need in the fentanyl patches. Anyways good luck, I would look into the program so your doctor can move you up as needed and you would only continue to pay the $25 monthly.

Oh I'm definitely not saying that it's a ripoff. I just mean that w/ the price of monthly doc visits, $25 is STILL too much considering some scripts are free from the companies. But your right, if I stay on oc's for awhile, I will definitely need this program to keep getting my meds.

Wasn't dissing, just saying it's still gonna be a strain.

Thx,
