Well awhile back, I was on the 25, then 50, 75, and finally 100ug patches so I know how all strengths feel. I remember putting them on my chest and 4 or so hours later getting a nice little buzz going. Well a few months ago I switched back to the Fent from the MS Contin. 25's did nothing really so I got bumped up to the 50's again. Putting one on was ok, but not what I wanted. So remembering that the palms of your hands and feet absorb things almost ten times faster than other parts of your skin, aside from the genital areas, I decided to put one on my foot as walking around with one on my hand would look pretty silly.
Knowing that the patch also has a metering system, I cut a tiny notch in it, and placed it on the arch of my foot, with an ace bandage. After a little over an hour I was buzzing hard and had to take it off after 3 hours. Then when I felt the buzz going down, I just put it back on.
Now I know that in the thread title I put Safer, and you might be thinking, "cutting a hole in it aint that safe", but I feel it is safer than say smoking it where a tiny drop on some foil could kill you. And at the same time, the skin can absorb only so much at a time. I feel that this is a safer and better way for those who are timid on smoking it and dont really get the effect when just putting the patch on their chest, side, or upper arm, etc...
I did a search for this topic but found none, though I am not the search engine king, so if there is 20 billion other threads on this, then this is my apology.
And also, everything in this post was actually SWIM, not me. It was just faster to type "I" than "SWIM".
