I couldnt say how many times I've been in this position, the postion of 4 days clean, and Im just wondering what if any suggestions anybody has to occupy my mind. Im over the physical sickness other than back pain, the constant need to strecth my legs and the occasional blowing of my nose and sneezing which I know is nothing compared to full blown sickness but still I'm starting a new job in...five days so I want to be 100%. This is really the hardest part of getting clean. Anyone experienced with this will understand because when your truly dopesick your so consumed with that that you forget all else, but now Im coming out of it I got a paycheck from my last job and can afford an 80 or 7 or 8 bags but I'm determined to stay clean for this job. My boss will be an old friend who doesnt know my past...so anyway thats that what do I do from here?

Do what you have been doing up until today forget about the past. You have beaten the hardest part. Try something that you haven't already tried, fill the next few days with movies shit that will get your mind and body far away from H. Good luck you can do it give yourself a chance, you can always go back to using you can't go back to a good opportunity

Get on the pc, play games, read, etc... but stay away from here, it'll only make you want to do it more. :(

I just did some oxy on my day 7, but I had kind of planned it. It will be another week before I do anymore. Like everyone has said, keep doing what you've been doing. I'm sure you're still achey and all, soma, ibuprofen and neurontin really helped me a lot. Anyways, good luck. The only good thing I had to look forward to was less back pain by taking some pills. You however have the prospect of a new job to detour you from taking some pill. Good luck!

Yeah, movies. Comedies, even good ones you've seen before. That's what did it for me. A hard laugh lets the endorphins flow. I had to stay away from intense stuff like "The wall" or "resevoir dogs." And I mean watch dozens of them, with walks or some kinda excercise in between.

Thanks all...I would have to say exercise is definatly the best advice its just so fucking hard to find the motivation, but its just like it is for normal people you feel way better after exercise...The movies thing is a staple for me when being sick and while it does help pass the time at the same time staying in one spot like that seems to make you ache more not to mention lieing in bed all day can be a bit depressing...

Just remember that it is very hard to fill that ungodly void with anything else but another substance...Maybe this is time to find a new hobby? Last time I went sober, I started flying remote control airplanes and saved up enough money to buy a motorcycle. The only thing that was able to fill my void was some sort of adrenaline, which in fact got me in more trouble than filling that void with opies. I hope I could of been of some sort of help, even though it is probably something you have been told before-Also, remember all the effort you put into getting high?(If you had too) Put all of that effort into money making ideas-You will be rich!!!

Your completely right on all fronts, but (theres always a but) I cant get over the fact the only negative effects I ever had to endure due to my use of Opiates is a direct result of a lack of funds. Thats something Ill never get over because some...all of my greatest accomplishments have been while using, and personally I dont desire wealth... just happiness...And they say life has to be bad at times for you to realize when its good, and I agree. Its not like...lets say I have a solid two months steady supply of dope...guess what you go through hard times on dope too and I;m not talking about being sick...a friend dies does it not hurt...girlfriend leaves with someone else that sucks etc., its not always good times when high...this numb to everything feeling they talk about is just something I havent experienced, in going on six years of my opiate carreer...

Sorry bout the rant its just that that is the one topic that gets me goin..

I wish I lived in the late 1800's in the states as opposed to post Harrison-fuckass naroctics act bullshit...whew I need drink
