Haha! Don't ask me how, but I just copped myself sixty five FREE 30 mg roxi (generic - blue - A215's)!! And no, I did NOT steal from a legitimate patient. These blue Oxy IR have always been my personal favorite, and I'm sure many others can agree. I'll probably try rationing them, maybe say; 3 a day for twenty days. This is great! :D

jesus h christ, i really do regret starting this thread... a relative of a friend i have recently died, turns out he was a CP patient, and this friend of mine came across a large amount of unused prescriptions... some of them from as far back as 1999. this friend was nice enough to grace me with the 65 roxi's.

Larry I do prefer the Roxicodone to the OxyContin. Simple explanation: The time release is never FULLY broken even when OC is crushed and snorted, it is still releases a bit slower than an IR version because of the wax in the tablet. In your case, 15mg is more than 10mg so go for it!

In all of my time, I might have found 5. I loved every one of them. Wife found half of one in the couch the night before last.

Do you suggest asking at the next appointment or waiting 2 months. My insurance didnt even completely cover the oxycontin, I had to pay $110 bucks out of my pocket, atleast with the Roxi the insurance would cover it I assume. ^^^ The sentence that I bolded; tell you doctor that. I was originally put on OxyContin too, 20mg. It was not covered at all by my insurance. I got it the first few months then told the doctor that I was having to pay out of pocket for it because my insurance does not cover it and I just could not afford to pay this every month, I even took him the receipt to show him the cost. Then I told him that the RPH (pharmacist) told me the alternative medication that my insurance would cover was called Roxicodone. He switched me over; no problem. You could even write it on your pharmacy bag or receipt and say the RPH checked to see what was covered and wrote it down for you. Tell him that you just can't afford the $110 every month. See what happens.

I know this question was kind of directed at roxi, but I'm going to jump in.

You may have a hard time getting your doc to switch you from 10 mg OC to 15 mg roxis. He's assuming you're taking them as prescribed, so that would be kind of a jump. IR pills are more for breathrough pain while the ERs are supposed to last you all day. If you take a 10 mg OC as prescribed you're getting it released continuously throughout the day as opposed to getting it all at once, as you would with the roxis. I'd say go for it, because that would be a sweet increase, but it would be more likely that he'd up you to 20 mg OCs and prescribe you some percs as breakthrough meds rather than just switch you over to the roxis, in my opinion.

I agree with you Pandora, however, his complaint is that the OC is not fully covered by insurance and he is having to pay $110 out of pocket for it. Switching to OC 20mgs won't really help with cost reduction. A switch to Roxicodone would be appropriate in this case. My best guess though is that if he is only dosing with the 10mg OC 2x a day that he will more than likely get Roxicodone 5mgs rather than 15mgs.

To the OP, congrats on the score! Seems like some of our fellow opio's woke up on the wrong side of the bed. :p As others have said, don't let it get to ya.
