Just tell your friend to make a appointment at the nearest clinic. As long as there is a history of abuse and either opiates or meth in your urine your good to go try this

Its a pretty intensive process but no first of all you dont have to be a shooter. Suboxone is way easier just see a doctor at the clinic hell take your blood pressure ask, you some easy questions, make sure you havent used any opiate for twenty four hours or methadone for fourty eight hours. With Methadone you will need to get to the clinic way early, the doctor visit is way more intensive plus you or I guess I should say your friend will need to bring a friend to verify addiction, assloads of paperwork, this is called the dehumanization process, a piss test while someone watches to help prove your dependance, and finally you have to get up every morning excluding sunday to get in line for your tang. With Suboxone you have to go once every one or two weeks and eventually once a month not to mention all in all its a way shorter detox program...I personally would reccomend Ibogaine but good luck getting it.

I"ve gotten on methadone detox and methadone mantainence programs at about a half a dozen clinics, though three or four of these were run by the same people (BAART throughout the SF Bay Area) and currently am a patient in Austin TX. It seems to me all they wanted to hear is that I was dope sick. They would also take a urine test and look for symptoms of drug use, and I was never humiliated in Austin - though some of the BAART clinics can be a little demeaning. I was an IV user so I would show my track marks, but I know that they accept people with script habits so I'm sure track marks are not mandatory. I've known people who might not have met the requirments, but used only a day before going down to the clinic and said they were sick and thats all it took. I'd say you might need to have some kind of opiate in your system and you will definitely want to tell them that you are sick. I'm sure that there are clinics that put you through the ringer, but no they're not all like that. The clinics here in Austin treat patients with respect, and I pick up my medicine twice a month - and could go once a month if I wanted to, but don't mind going twice a month since since the clinic is not far from where I live. I do think that they want you to have not used for 24 hours, I think that is to prevent an OD - but I believe I've usually used less than 24 hours before going in, simply because I can't stand being sick. -Don't know if that's much help, but that's my experience.

I might add that though it's been my experience that it can at some clinincs be relatively easy to get on (and others it can be next to impossible) - either way, if you don't NEED to be on methadone for the love of God don't start it. IF, being on methadone would improve your life and quite possibly help you to avoid daily use, overdose, getting busted...etc., methadone can definitely be a life saver - on the other hand, if you are NOT addicted don't mess with it - though I'm among those that swear by the stuff, I also admit that it should probably be among the last resorts. Once you've been on methadone.....well...if you weren't a junky you will be after a few years on mantainence, that's for sure. Just be careful. Good luck.
