I've only ran into opana once. In my opinion I thought it was the most euphoric opiate I've ever taken. I did 20mg (little to no opiate tolerance at the time) and it was by far the best opiate experience. I don't hear too many people talk about it so whats all of your opinions?

Hmmm... I consider it similar in effect to Hydromorphone. Great IV, Good IM, noticeable up the nose and shit orally. When I had "little to no opiate tolerance" I considered codeine euphoric. Oxymorphone, as cool as it sounds, is only as cool as it sounds in a needle. This is my opionion but I've only tried it a couple times as "Numorphan".

There is a stable supply of opana 20mg XR in my area... it's definitely a strong opiate, less euphoric than most, and the nod seems different. Tolerance builds up extremely fast to it, unfortunately. The good thing about it is that the people who sell it usually have no idea how powerful it is (10x stronger than morphine), so they sell it for relatively cheap ($25-$27 per 20mg pill). Compared to paying $60-$80 for one 200mg ms contin it's definitely a deal.
The only downside, and probably the reason they aren't my DOC, is that they have that green coating that is so hard to remove (I peel the coating off slowly with a sharp knife) and it gels in your nose when snorted, so once you have a high tolerance, it takes 4-5 of them at once to do anything, which is a goo-fest at that point. Helluva good opiate, though.

I am scripted these in the form of Opana ER 20mg, it does suck orally as been stated but I think up the nose for works well just doesn't last long enough. So needless to say I end up going through my script in a matter of a week and without being given anything for breakthrough pain *doc says they'll lead to dependence which leads to addiction and therefore organ failure, bunch of shit to me though* once I'm out I'm screwed. I gotta say I love me some Opana.

I've taken just about almost all pill form opiates and Opana is the bomb. However, you achieve a high tolerence very quickly. Just last year I could barely insufflate 20mg, and now I am up to 120mg. That's a high tolerance considering the euphoria. Talk about nodding out....Guaranteed every time.

Opana is by far the best opiate that SWIM has ever come into contact with. What he would do to get a constant script of those!

I'm gonna have to agree with Jonny. That does sound like an awful lot. But if both of us are wrong and your doctor is that great, you are one lucky person.

I've taken allot of stuff over the years for chronic pain. I have to say that Opana is about as good as it gets, for me. For allot of people, it doesn't work at all, but I guess that's the way it is with most things. We're all different.
Opana is the only extended release medicine that I've taken that's rated to last 12 hours that even comes close to lasting that long. When I first started, I was amazed because it actually did last 12 hours. As has already been stated, however, tolerance to it rises fairly quick so recently I've been taking 40mg every 8 hours.
As has already been stated, taken orally, Opana has no euphoria. Hell, taken orally, it doesn't even make me sleepy. The only way I even know I've taken it is the pain relief. So, its great for patients who don't like feeling loopy or whatnot. But, railed, its a different story. Up the nose, the bio-availability increases to over 40% and the buzz is more like Oxy to me. Taken that way, it increases the pain relief and to me, it doesn't decrease it longevity at all. I noticed above that someone said that gels up in the nose, but I've never had this problem. Railing it is a great way to get pain relief and to feel good at the same time.
Until last month, I was taking Roxicodone for BT pain. I had refused the Opana IR because of its cost. Both the ER and IR were separate 50 dollar co-pays for me so I had stayed with the Roxi's to save money because its only a 10 dollar co-pay. Anyways, last month I had a little extra money and decided to give them a try. The doctor gave enough to take 10mg every 6 hours and an extra pill to take anytime during the day as needed. Once again, no euphoria when taken orally, but railed it worked great. However, I am going to go back to Roxi's because I didn't notice that much of a difference to warrant paying to extra money and all I can see it doing is raising my tolerance to Oxymorphone even higher. I don't IV, but everyone I've heard of doing so was extremely impressed.
All in all, in my opinion, its some good shit.

|x|, maybe someone has already mentioned this, but I didn't notice it. You can IV the ER's but its not an easy process like the IR tablets are. From what I hear, IV'ing the IR's are as simple as crushing, adding H2O and filtering real good. The ER's will gel up pretty bad. You have to add it to water and let it sit for 12 hours or so. I am sure someone else can answer this, but I am not sure if you need to keep the water at a certain temperature or if regular room temperature water will suffice. Anywho, while it sits the time release does its thing. You extract the water, leaving the gooey gum behind and then go from there. So, while you can IV them and its not all that complex of a process, it does take some time.
On the other hand, you can rail the fuck out of those ER's. I have never had them gel up in my nose and they work great that way. You get the best of both worlds actually. Great pain relief, energy, and a nice feeling of relaxation. If you can get them, I wouldn't pass them up, that's for sure. I wouldn't say that taking them orally is a waste because some of us value pain relief above anything else. But, railing, as I said, gives you the best of both worlds.
This is entirely unrelated, but I don't want to forget... has wideopensky been around lately? I just haven't seen a post from her since the board come back up. I hope she's okay. I miss allot of our old timers that we've not seen lately.
