I did a post two weeks ago about how i had been taking methadone for a while and that i couldn't get high after that (see "I cant get high!" in the Methadone forum). Well i dont want to make the same mistake again, so i was wondering if anybody can give me some insight. Here's the deal: I was taking methadone again at about 50 mg a day starting last monday and going until 23:00 on wednesday night, so three days. Now i have a bunch of 10/500mg. hydros and i took a few last night just to see, and nothing happened, no high. i wanted to take some tonight and at 23:00 tonight, it will have been 48hrs. since i last took methadone. On this page http://heroinhelper.com/curious/pharmacology/strength.shtml#fentanylNote, it says the half life of methadone is 24 hrs., which means that after 48 hrs., it should be all gone, right? so, theoretically, i should be able to get off on those hydros tonight. so my question is this: can anyone confirm or deny this logic from their own experiences? should i try that tonight? or will i just be wasting a bunch of perfectly good vic's? :(

That's not the way half life works. Say you take 50 mg a day for 5 days and then stop. By the second 24 hrs you would have 75 mg in you, right? half the first day AND the second day. the third day you would have 88 in you. Half the second day and the third day. Etc. At your 5th dose you would have 97 mg in you!! Then after one day off, you would have 49mg in you, ie., half of 97. Then two days after you would have 29 mg in you, then 15, then 7 by the fourth day off. Get it?? See why this shit sucks so bad?? So. . . . I would wait a while longer if I were you.

I tink everyone is different and the numbers don't apply as a good measure. I know Meth is much stonger then most any other. Meth just seems to block all the others out for a long time. A doctor told me Meth will not only fill the Endorphin Receptors there is evidence meth creates new ones. I know what you mean with not being able to get high. I won't even waste my money on anything because I just don't feel it. On the other hand I know people on high doses who say they feel one bag of H. Go figure. This doesn't answer your question it just my 2 cents.

Oh ok i get it. so today i should have about 22 mg.s in me, as long as i havent taken any more- 50 mg.s monday, 75 mg.s tuesday, 88 mg.s wednesday, and then i stopped, so 44 mg.s thursday, and then 22 mg.s today. thanx Coddfish! Does any one know of anything you can do to purge the meth from your system faster?

Stingray, I have heard of people that use to get off on hydro, but once they have gotten off on methadone, they no longer can get a high going from hydro anymore. I know I use to get a glow from 1 10/500 vicodin, but now I dont think I could take enough hydros to even get a good glow. All I think I would feel is a little warm, but nothing like it used to be.

Vicodin is a great starter drug, but once you start climbing that ladder the lower rungs are no longer in sight.

The only thing that I know of is t Naltrexone, Narcan the shit you get when you OD. but that will put you in immediate WD, big time. You don't want that.

yeah the narcan will plug up his receptors for another day or so as well while hes in WD

what I would do is ,I personally would sell the hydros so I could get a bag o' H because that would be the only thing next to meth that would do it for me.
Also, there really is no way to make the meth exit my system quicker than usuall.....it just takes patience and time. whenevr I were to do what I just suggested ,then I would also wait until I was absolutely certain that the meth was totally out of my system,even to the point of feeling the sickening w.d's coming on. When I wanted to get high,that is what I would do,because if I didnt wait for my tolerance to go down,then I wouldnt get high no matter what and then I would be so mad and frustrated because of the wasting of good opi's!!
Also,when I did all this,I would spend the whole day before I intended to get high by ingesting as many potentiators as I could,and then the next day I would keep on ingesting them right up until I "consumed"the H. By me doing all of this,I managed to put on quite a good buzz!!
I had to really put alot of effort into getting high because the Meth really sent my tolerance sky high and whenever I wanted to get blasted,it would turn out to be a waste of money and I would get so pissed!!
Anyways,like I said,I really had to put alot of effort into getting my brain to react with the Heroin to get me high.
It can positively be done,but the part that sucked for me was that I could no longer get high in a matter of minutes by simply shooting some Heroin. Instead it would take a long drawn out ritual,but after doing this a few times,I actually would start to enjoy the whole process of preparing my body and mind to react with the Heroin!! There is alot of truth about the mind/body connection,I really believe it!!So,the long drawn out ritual would actually psych out my mind and body to get ready to "RECIEVE AND ACCEPT THE "GOODIES" ABOUT TO ENTER THE BLOODSTREAM !! YEAHHHH!!!YEAAHHHHHHHH!!! ACCEPT THEM INTO THE BRAINS NOW EVER SO WILLING AND PREPARED RECEPTORS!!" If you REALLY want it to happen,(and I know you do!!) you can make it happen. I mean really,Junkies are some of the most Intelligent people on the face of the Earth and when it comes to figuring out a way to get them high,I am sure you know that Junkies can be amazing at finding a way to achieve this!! It can literally be mind blowing and quite impressive because of all the brilliance and ingenuity displayed in the QUEST for GETTING HIGH!!!So,I guess my advice would also be that ,if you use some patience,brain's and willingness+the effort,then it will = you getting high.
