I heard on a forum that myrrh is a mild opioiod. Yes myrrh as in "Gold, incense and myrrh" what the wise men brought baby jesus. A DIFFERENT article on possible cannabis use by Jesus's followers in the bible days read that it was one of the many additives in a ritual wine. However there are many other possible active ingredients in the brew (Datura, cannabis?) and this particular article did not speak of this substances place in the mix. Further research led me to the forum i spoke of, where someone referred to myrhh as a mild opiod in a trip report involving DXM and several other additives including this. Bein an avid natural high enthusiast, and extremely broke, im looking always for the most bang for the buck. Anyone know more about this?

yeah, the dxm and myrrh experience was mine.

myrrh contains a mild opioid agonist.

myrrh was one of the most popular pain relievers before morphine was isolated.

chinese traditional medicine stores(websites) sell a 5x extract of myrrh that is easier to snort, smoke or eat. doses of the raw material are anywhere from 1-10 grams. the material if eaten should be mixed into solution of h2o or vinegar.

dont expect the world. I only use myrrh in combination with other opiates.

the predominant effect is STIMULATION, not sedation.

the mixture of myrrh and kratom has made me vomit for a few hours. the amounts used were 20 grams of kratom to a few grams of myrrh.

I will look up the active compounds name and post it here some time.

Thank you for the confirmation. There's so many herbs out there, and I will certainly try combinations to find the most opiate like in nature and try and concoct some sort of positive mixture. It's really cool to find a site dealing with specfically opiates like this ones. pretty unique.

I have a little over an ounce of myrrh and I wondering if hot water would destroy the alkaloid? I'm gonna grind some up in a mortar and wash it down with some tea containing chamoile and such, and I'll post again. I made a tea about a month ago and experienced some "stimulating" efects as you mentioned but i thought they might be placebo. Ill be trying a larger amount tonight.

Well I was in the shower with the water way too hot and I noticed it but it didnt hurt as much as it should of...and the buzz wasnt exactly phenominal so i guess theres a diff.

I obtained a few forms of myrrh easily & cheaply from a local natural food store (sometimes it's so great to live in California ;)). It did for me what others described...very mild, but still present, "glow". And mild, but available, dulling of pain.

7)When posting, use more than one incomplete sentance, unless its a yes or no question or something of the like that requires a short post.
8) Repeat rules 1-7 as needed.
9) Memorize rules 1-8
10) rinse and repeat


Remember the first step to recovering from "over posting addiction" is to admit that your are powerless over your addiction. Practice these principles ^^ and recovery is then possible.
